Why do people keep talking about Doomsday...

Comparison on adaptation powers.

I have an observation, but it'll probably derail this no matter how I write it.

It doesn't matter to you though. Let's not pretend here.

Why would I post that scan for you? It serves no purpose. Maybe if someone credible would ask for it, I would show them but you would dispute the color red being red. I'll pass.

Shooting spikes out of your hand isn't adapting, it's an ability. Marrow can shoot bones from her body, is the adapting? Hulk can release gamma energy from his body, is that adapting or does this just apply to Doomsday?

Again I ask, prove that Doomsday adapted to Darkseid Omegas. That can easily be a durability ft.

Show me Doomsday adapting to Time Stop.

Writer intent means nothing, EXCEPT when the person that is mentioning it to settle a dispute. Doesn't fly here. Anything else?

Writers intent flies here and everywhere else. What the writer is trying to portray is king.

DD gained the ability to send bones out on the fly. Waverider stopped time (DD was frozen) so that he can talk to Superman. DD broke out of it. Waverider also was trying to alter DD with his chrono energies and DD adapted to them.

Concession excepted. Hulk doesn't have the ability to evolve on the fly to ANY type of attack.

Hulk is a brick that can heal and get stronger. Nothing more.
He can be easily bfred.

But what about when he was choking on an alien planet with poisonous gas that was lethal to breathe? The Hulk's lungs adapted to the environment and within moments he was able to breathe.

Yeah, remember than one time!

He did it again in Future Imperfect when he went underground to find Maestro. The air was filled with acidic mist, and again when he grew gills while under water. So let's all remember what h1 just said about writer intent being king and all that shit.

Yeah, no. I'm not going to say he can't adapt(not saying either yet), but what you said does not apply to what H1 said.

they looked knocked out to me. Agreed that gladiator had the thunderclap to his ears, but the hulk looked fine before the fall.

They hit the ground and resume their fight:

Lol. hV was going to kill him. Great adaptation there I guess.....

Maybe Gladiator was absorbing Hulks power like he did to Galactus, as carver so eloquently stated.

Gladiator stole his adaptive powers. Chekmate Hulkatheists.

The beams have dynamic strength!

Tears through chest. Unable to shoot through hand.

🙀

I mean, some of the arguments being advanced here...

Look, Hulk has been around since the 60s. Is one of Marvel's most used characters. They even explicitly say 'Hulk is Hulk' - so every single one of his 616 appearances, across all incarnations, count. Has multiple solo series focussing solely on him.

Doomsday has been around for half that time, and then, his various incarnations are all separate. Doesn't have his own ongoing, and is reduced to what amounts to guest star cameos.

Yet, people are trying to equate the two in terms of their adaptation showings, lol. Seems pretty clear cut when Doomsday has just as many as Hulk, with 10% of the overall showings, lol.

Over time, every character has their one-off showings. Imagine if we did that consistently.

Hulk grew gills once and adapted to underwater once? Superman adapted to the 4th dimension.

Hulk's blood gave life to flowers once? Superman created antimatter.

Hulk can see astral beings? Superman can see souls, and freeze intangible beings.

But we can ignore Superman, because he is in every fricking thread. LEt's go back to Doomsday.

Hulk adapted to water? Doomsday adapted to Oan energy
Hulk's blood gave life to flowers? Doomsday....tbf, he doesn't have blood, but adapting to Waverider is pretty good.

Again - Doomsday has 10% of the showings Hulk has. Probably 5% once we take out all the times he just shows up on the background.

Yet the fact he can be compared to Hulk, shows just how laughably poor Hulk's showings are.

🙀

I think given time, it would have torn through his hand as well.

Comics lol. The slower guy is allowed to move while getting his chest torn open while the guy with superspeed is a statue. Unless hulk adapted to speed steal Gladiators speed.

Lol... Hulk was dying before that fight. He was suffering from the events of the Onslaught stress on his body that separated him and Banner and he also had metal shards in his brain. The results impacted his durability. Read the story before commenting on a showing.
