MN Hospitals Run Full-Page Ad: "We're Overwhelmed"

Minnesota hospital leaders are warning in a full-page newspaper ad that they are "overwhelmed" amid a COVID-19 surge and are urging the public to take action.

"Our emergency departments are overfilled, and we have patients in every bed in our hospitals," write the leaders of nine hospital systems in the state, including the Mayo Clinic and North Memorial Health.

The hospitals warn that because their capacity is strained, care for non-coronavirus medical events, like heart attacks, is also threatened.

Getting my booster tomorrow, not looking forward to the arm pain I'm hearing about but oh well.

there's a fair chance you'll have no symptoms. it's possible that the problem was the person who did ths injection. they pumped in very fast compared to the others. keep in mind the first 2 were done by nurses in an ER and this was done by a 20-something year old musclehead at a tiny pharmacy.

Renal colic, easily.

Not fishing for anything, just can't notice any pain from vaccine shots worth gabbling about. Only a few pussy kmcers do that.

No, the pain is real. First two shots was frankly nothing worth talking about. Booster felt like my arteries were ripped out.

And I'd know because I donate blood regularly and this one incompetent nurse just butchered the arm, took a month to feel right again. The Covid shot was on par with that feeling.

Whenever I get a needle in my arm, it hurts. It hurts like someone just stuck a needle in my arm. Then again, I've broken my wrist, fallen down and had had some pretty bad vomiting episodes from alcohol consumption, but I don't think they are comparable to needles. Those kind of pains made my body release a shitload of opiates and I felt like passing out. A needle is comparable to a scratch or a splinter.

I've broken an arm, twisted an ankle and twisted it again and again over a week, split open a knee and slipped and fell in the shower on it several times just as it healed over, and had a thumb crushed by a puppy after her adult teeth came in destroying the entire nail, and had a tooth ripped out with a live nerve..

The needle hurt, the after effects were hfil.

Hahaha, you had pain.

Todd, you complain about every kind of pain known to man every single day on this very forum.

No side effects to report as of yet, I only got the jab about 3 hours ago though.

Pain is pain. It's not a competition.

Are we having a pain-off? My worst three:

-Had a kidney stone once, was tiny, but it hurt a lot

-Had a migraine so bad that I could barely think beyond the pain, doctor thought I had meningitis, but the spinal tap they did showed it wasn't

-Landed on my knee and smashed it after flying off a car going about 25mph, not sure if it was a minute of longer, but the initial pain was so intense that I couldn't think beyond the pain

COVID-19 needle pain was minimal for me all three times.

Universal and omnipresent element of our lives.

But complaining about vaccine shots can only be comparable with... let's say carver taking a pic of his sandwich, uploading it on his instagram and commenting on his own post.

Once? You've always been too lucky, even for a gdf poster.

Careful, those little shits love to reform. Do the ultrasound exams every once in a while.

Some of my relatives have chronic migraines, meds for that crap can be quite expensive.

Full recovery?

Because there is nothing to talk about.

Antivaxxers like Broly and Cdtm will scream at the top of their lungs and demand instant hospitalization, telling fairy tales about having been "poisoned" and being close to death (cdtm literally did go so far in our cbvf, but he does that 3-4 times each week).

I believe just the once and this was 20ish years ago. I think I might have had another 10ish years ago, similar pain, but it went away after a day.

Never had a migraine that bad again. Not sure what that the hell that was about. Crazy pain levels.

I was 18 at the time and didn't go to the doctor like I should have, just wrapped it up and went about my life. My knees are now crunchy, especially that one, I'll need surgery to go in and do a cleaning of scar tissue and whatnot at some point.

They're true cowards and idiots. Bunch of whiners.

Happened to my father. At a water park no less.

And he says he's glad he isn't our Uncle Jeff the postal worker. He gets about a dozen a year, no exaggeration.

Sounds like he needs to change just about everything in his life then, including his job, diet and meds.

And, most importantly, sever his ties with you, as you're like a walking Pandora's box.

He never considered the shock wave treatment or surgery?

He's tried everything.

Gets them every couple of months some years.

If he truly tried anything, he wouldn't be getting them so often.

I simply refuse to believe his condition is so severe - he is probably just incredibly lazy, loves fast food and considers Google Search to be the best doctor on the planet, always ignores medical recommendations by his physician, too.

Just like this guy:

Another mystery solved.
