I respect a womans right to have an abortion, but that does not mean I condone it. Just because I respect her right to have an abortion doesn't mean I can't think abortion is wrong. I respect a person's right to worship satan. Is it wrong? In my opinion, yes, it is wrong.
you can respect someone's right to do something, but still think that something is wrong.
Oh sweet spirits...
I have told you so many times that nobody said or EXPECTS you to condone something you disagree with. I'm not trying to get you to be fine with women having abortions, you have every right on Earth to hate it to the pit of your soul if you see fit. What you do not have the right to is remove HER right to have the procedure.
THAT is not the issue, THIS is:
You say you would not force your personal beliefs, in this case regarding abortion, on anyone. Yet...you WOULD vote to ban it, in which case, as proven, you WOULD be forcing your beliefs in order to protect your stance. You will not admit that, even now, even in the face of overwhelming proof, evidence and example. That is what you NEED to do. You spoke of sticking to guns, so do it. Admit that in order to protect YOUR beliefs, if you had to, you would force them on others by banning abortion.

But you'd be prepared to force your beliefs on others to protect your own if you HAD to, wouldn't you?Can you not just answer the question?

For crying out loud. It's a hypothetical; If you had to vote, you'd vote to ban abortion. This would mean forcing your beliefs on others.
Can you not admit that? Do you honestly have that little spine?

If RogueJedi see's an abortion as being equal to killing/ending of a "life", how can you expect him to be okay with "a woman's right to an abortion"?
Who's asking him to be okay with abortions? We're saying he hasn't got the right to ban them because he doesn't like them, and he doesn't.

No, are you? It doesn't alter the facts.

Go and do some research, then come back and say the same thing. If you can prove it, I'll retract what I said. But, I think we all know that's not going to happen.

Point is, if he sees an abortion as "ending a life", why shouldn't he not want to ban them? E.g., you're against the death penalty(?), if it was reacted in the U.K.; then a bill was proposed to do away with the death penalty[again], would you not vote for it? Of course you would, because you're against state sponsored killing.
