Amazo just doesn't seem that fast in this storyline. But hey, cling to it if you want, apparently humans can also catch him by surprise, and street level martial artists like Canary can destroy him before he can react. Zatanna is so fast, Amazo can't even....sidestep lol.
Imagine if I used this scan to fight, say, Hulk. Zatanna casts a spell so quickly, even WW-level opponents - faster than Superman, even! - can't react in time.
Yeah, the entire storyline (so both fights) are completely useless to use as an example of Superman's combat effectiveness, much less how it corresponds to Zod's combat effectiveness.
Otoh, it speaks volumes about Wonder Woman's inability to handle Kryptonians.
Put it this way, we need an analogy.
You, Carver9, are out one night at a bar with your buddies. You best friend/brother shows up, coked and drunk out of his mind, and starts tearing up the place.
You try to subdue him, try to pin him down so he doesn't hurt anyone, but he just beats the shit out of you. You don't want to kill him (obviously) but neither do you want a black eye or a broken arm either - you still end up with both.

Yep, she blitzed him. The first fight he was looking right at her in an attack position and she blitzed him and tied him up before he even realized what was going on.
Second fight they fought one on one the entire time and she held her own and blitzed him at one point. Denial is your best friend.
