It is almost as if we should have just collapsed the Valley in order to save Selenian lives...
"A march on the capital," Xeth comments. "Did you already have some strategy in mind for preventing this march from ever reaching the Selenian capital? I know we must also rescue citizens within the Federation landing zone from the Cultists, but this is also a pressing matter."
They'd rather not fight at the gates of the city; tremendous damage could be inflicted. Better to meet the army in the field, and so if the combined army that the Alurans can assemble is going to fight anywhere, it will be there, meetign the Federation army as it advances.
As for the civilians in the landzing zone- those battles are ongoing right now, so what is being done for them is all that can be.
Alright. So the Selen will be in charge here? No two commanders arguing about tactics or conflicting orders while soldiers die? Probably a stupid question but I can be a wee bit paranoid at times.
Would we be able to use some of the trees from the forest as barricades for cover or even rolling logs to thin the first few waves of droids?
Ok I've read the last page. How long will it take for the capitols defences to fall. I think we should try to make Cannes pissed at us, so he would be focusing on us alone. If only Thrawn were here lol. What is Cannes goal? Taking over the factories, to build who knows what. We need to appeal to that. Maybe a threat that if this attack continues we will destroy the factories. Otherwise... suggestions?
They are unsure how long they will hold. They are certain that if the Federation take Myconus, they will make an 'example' of it, which will almost certainly mean the end of the war; one outright slaughter starts there will be no sense in fightng on.
Meanwhile, they cannot justify destroying their factories; their civilisation depends on it.
News is also in that the city of Laresh has fallen, Laresh is a star port and now the Federation no longer needs an improvised landing site. This makes interdicting their arriving troops entriely impossible now.

Those of you having a look at the available forces can see what ia available.
Selenian Infantry: These are dependable foot troops of moderate strength.
Dorgonath Assault Troops: The Dorgonath infantry that have arrived are amongst their best; they are of equivalent quality to the Selenian infantry but have great punch on the offensive.
Selenian Special Forces: These Selenian troops, actually trained for law-enforcement purposes, are of very high quality and are very mobile around the battlefiled. However, they are few in number and causalties will quickly render this unit unusable.
Selenian Foresters: Troops trained for use in the forest area that lies on the Selenian/Dorgonath border, these troops are lightly armed but can spring nasty surprises on foes in the forest environment.
Gothan Militia: The militia forces are low quality but plentiful
Kaldan Beasthandlers: Another highly aggressive troop type, better on the offence than the defence, the dog-beasts that hhese handlers take care of gain bonuses against infantry targets.
Mounted Riflemen: The Dorgonath Cavalry regiments fit their old-fashioned nature, combining traditional 'horse'riding with quick-firing blaster carbines. If given the opportuntiy to flank enemy troops, they will be very effective.
Selenian Speeders: The Selenian main battle vehicle is not a tank equivalent so does not count as Armour in battle, but they work well on the offence and are also very quick to redpeloy around the battlefield.
Dorgonath Battlecrawlers: Actually rather old-fashioned now, these impressive looking armoured hulks are sitting ducks to targeted missile fire or air strikes. They are also impossible to re-deploy in a hurry, being so slow. Nonetheless, they carry a lot of firepower and are your only source of Armour.
Selenian Field Guns: These static units are no good on the attack as they need to be emplaced but on the defensive carry quite a punch and can counter-act enemy Armour.
Selenian Artillery: These light artillery guns are not hugely impressive but can be used safely behind the lines. Unfortunately, heavier Selenian guns are too unwiedly to move into action.
Xeth does not comment about the news of Laresh's fall, knowing that there is nothing to be done about its capture until the main battle is over.
"I agree that the edge of the Selenian forest would be the best place to drag the march on Myconus to a halt," Xeth says. "The ability to flank is a valuable asset, and we will be depriving them of it. Would there be any benefit from hit-and-run tactics on the droid army to dwindle their numbers or destroy their support BEFORE it reaches the edge of the forest, where we intend to hold them? Or would such a gesture be overstretching what we have?"
Good to get a list of what we have to fight the battle droids with. I think we have seen all that the Federation has to offer, ranging from the standard battle droid to the BV50.
Are the Selenian airspeeders and the Elerian starfighters all we have in terms of air support?
Indeed, when Wentar mentions it, Xeth will remind them of how the Control Ship was destroyed at Naboo, and how he has fought against 'missing shipments' of battle droids that were all routed after deactivating the signal that allowed them to operate.
"Deactivating their signal is the key to victory," Xeth says. "And then, no matter how many armies Cannes has to throw at you, they will be rendered entirely useless."
