IOW, h1 really sucks at math and science.

Interesting take.
Basically, a 1 megaton nuke has a TOTAL energy (the energy release by the entire explosion, not a small Superman/DD sized exposure to it) of 4.8x10^15J. (source: http://www.atomicarchive.com/Effects/effects1.shtml)
He is saying Thor took the entirety of 2x10^20J. If my math is right, it's like he took the full force of around 800x the most powerful nuke on Earth in a single focused beam.
Am I hearing this right?
Horee shit.

Horee shit.
Plus he was taking all that heat energy while also being subjected to the gravity/magnetic etc forces of neutron star.
Bottom line, h1 acting like this wasn't a extremely impressive feat is laughable and just shows that he could very well be the most biased person on KMC.

What I have is my own interpretation of what the beam is corroborated and quantified by a character who is perhaps the MOST credible expert on what is going on in said fictional universe.
Our evidences are not even comparable.
3) Ironyx2.
4) Giants use money now? They using USD or yuan? 😱
What you perhaps aren't getting is the cost-benefit of putting together a mountain-sized structure around the most extreme natural phenomena in our universe? And they're doing this just to save a buck on heating expenses? 😆
5) The main take-away of Nidavelir is that it is a unique forge in all the universe where the most powerful space-tech plot device weapons in the universe are forged. I refuse to believe that the only unique quality of the forge lies in its free heating.
You know what can get you practically free energy for life? Solar panels near a regular sun. A mountain sized one could no doubt provide some pretty decent heating. Cheaper, safer, not needing you to structurally cover a neutron star.
No one works for free. There is always a trade system. Aliens might not have thought of solar panels (being more advanced doesn't mean that you thought of everything man has). Also solar panels take a long time to absorb the amount of energy to produce that type of heat, even a mountain sized one. It takes more energy to build a solar panel than it will absorb in over ten years. That means it absorbs energy at a low rate.
But none of this matters as this is fiction. We don't have to rationalize why or why fictional beings do something that's not explained. This isn't real life we are explaining. We just use common sense and what the writer is trying to show.
Now you can believe the writer meant gravity force (although that's not an outward force, it's the curvature of space-time) and magnetic force (i know that you don't but just want to troll me). That's your opinion.
But common sense (which shouldn't have to be debated) is that it was heat energy from the star. After all, the audience knows that heat is needed to melt metal and that stars have heat.
We all know that it's possible to mean "full temperature" as "full force".
And it is more likely too for obvious reasons.
Now we can debate for fun (since we both believe what's the case actually is). I don't mind.

You are an idiot if you actually believe that.
I don't think you are, so why lie?
Thor withstood the full temperature of a star focused in a beam. Nothing more.
the temperature of a nuke according most of my sources on net is about 100million kelvin. Again my sources tell me tha after a neutron star has cooled(which dosent take long) it emits more gravitational pull than heat. The Heat then reduces to about 600,000 kelvin. In thor's case that neutron star was there for than thousands of years, which means the temperature would likely have been significantly less than 600,000kelv. But let me have mercy on the weak son of odin 😖hifty:  and say the temperature was about 400,000 kelvin. That Means Thor Could Not Take 600,000 kelvin or less in less than 3min??!! (thats poor). While Supes Took 100million kelvin in an instant.
Lets be realistic. Based on these feats supes is far more durable.

The above video shows that Thor tanked 2x10^20J. Not even bullshitting here.
That is about 4x more energy than the entirety of the US nuclear arsenal.
