^ Speaking of which, I just saw that Fox was banned again. I honestly didn't think that guy was a troll so much as he just had a lot of views I disagreed with. He was basically a drunk Mel Gibson most of the time.

Anyway, Trumo's inheritance is rather irrelevant to a defense of affirmative action which discrimates based on race rather than class. I have no issue with people raised in worse circumstances getting picked over someone with Comparable grades or grades raised in better circumstances. Affirmative action would be fine if it was poverty based, but by making it race based, you assume all black people are poorer than all white people and Asian people which simply isn't true.
Systematic discrimationncannot be solved with blatant discrimation, it can only be solved with systematic equality. In other words, improve the situation of the less fortunate across the board, and the race based disparities will naturally even out.
Affirmative action's incentives should be shifted to solely being based on class or it should be gotten rid off entirely.
I don't think we should have AA at all, but if we must have it I agree that it shouldn't be based on race or gender. Fighting racism with racism makes no sense.
But I genuinely believe they do not want to give up the victimhood status. If they made it about class it means anyone of any race could benefit from AA, but I don't think they want that. People will give you a lot more pity if they think you're being discriminated on based on race.
