so wait no bullets are faster then rockets?

so if some one pulls a trigger to a gun and some one moves so fast that the bullet does not even leave the gun before the person kicks it is more impressive then some one doing the same feat to a rocet launcher?

rocket's>>>>>>>>>bullets

Uh, no. Not only do most rockets travel slower than bullets the lag time between trigger and actual fire is also larger.

In terms of gauging speed bullets >> rockets

actauly rocket travel faster then bullets

also the lag time with a rocket launcher is no longer then a bullet. now a rocket from a plane and such is a different story

Good one.

Spider-Man supporters? I think we're done here. I know when we're beaten.

No. marvelprince is quite correct there.

But keep trying anyway.

Man. You are just owning me left and right. And I was JUST about to edit that, too!

Now whatever will I do? masterbruce holds all the cards now... 🙁

(I'm assuming you're referring to a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher in which case) Incorrect. On both counts.

Dear Capt It Up,

As a fellow Wolverine supporter, I sincerely disagree with you that rockets are faster than bullets.

Sincerely,

Masterbruce

A bullet actually travels significantly faster than a rocket...

Thank you. We were debating RPG's against bullets. Now capt has a choice between rifle or handgun bullets.

I was trying to find some stats like these. Do you know where we can find any that state the lag time between pressing the trigger and actually firing these weapons?

AFAIK RPGs aren't guided(?) The firing mechanism for a handgun seems simpler than for a rocket launcher. Further the rocket motor doesn't kick in until 10 m, from which point it accelerates to the maximum flight velocity (according to the knowledge god wikipedia). Further still, aiming a rocket launcher seems more difficult than a handgun, if purely due to the size of the thing. All this would intuitively say that a handgun fires faster and more accurately.

I couldn't find any info on the elapsed time between pulling a trigger and the actual "firing". My guess is a bullet exits quicker due to the initial explosion in the cartridge but anything rocket propelled builds speed up to the time it runs out of fuel.

Ex. The Space Shuttle must reach around 18,500 mph to achieve escape velocity but it starts out much slower because the rockets must build speed. In other words, the shuttle doesn't go from 0 - 18,500 mph in seconds but in minutes. A bullet exits the chamber going almost full speed.

I wasn't disputing what was posted. I was thanking and agreeing. I understand that my post was a little hard to decipher though

I know. I was semi-responding to your question. I don't think there are stats that tell you how long it takes for a rocket or gun to fire, but I would say the gun takes it.

Ah. Gotcha. Good reasoning on your part which I agree with
