Wow, so many different opinions....

It is like the fan base is literally divided...similar to how SOME believed in the prophecy and Neo and some did not. It didn't really matter who did as long as Neo did. Then again I keep asking myself would Neo ever have become the one if Trinity was never told by the Oracle she would have fallen in love with a man and that man would be The One.

Anyway....off subject. I believe Sati did change both worlds in the sense that she WAS the first program that other programs "loved" enough to sacrifice more or less no different than you or I or Neo or Trinity.
Persephone seems simple enough to me, she kisses people and extracts (downloads) the emotional connection and processes that information. "feeling" ? This is at least what I get from her kissing, Neo(Reloaded), Niobe and Ghost in ETM.

I love that people think the movie "sucks" because they don't know more about Mero, Persephone, Seraph and some other minor characters...
This story (Trilogy) is interpretive and allows you to connect it religiously, IF YOU CHOOSE, or not. It is not meant for Christians to understand only and it certainly can be deeper if you choose to look.

I like that in the midst of all the money they stand to make and likely knew they would they still managed (IMO) to deliver something that will be debated for (potentially) ever...

I cannot believe that people are made the Wach Bros didn't come to this forum and use all these ideas. Why didn't they hand us exactly what we wanted on a silver platter...???

Man I can't wait for Spiderman 2 next year. Oooo, I bet you he lives in the end and defeats Doc Ock. I bet in SW Ep 3 Anakin turns into Darth Vader and Obi Wan goes to Tatooine and lives alone. I bet in Scooby Doo 2 he saves the day...For the next few years or so (hard to say) I am sure you will have plenty of movies that serve up "what you want" and only miss on delivering great action or maybe some bad acting or maybe some weak stoy line...but nontheless hand you a typical outlined story you can add to your DVD collection...
I am happy I have 3 movies that opened my eyes and mind a little more than yesterday and gave me a new way to look and or expect things. You didn't get WHAT YOU WANTED....HAHA boo hoo.

Opinions are fine, just don't say they failed because they didn't. They succeeded. They told the story they wanted to tell and you didn't like how it went. I can say I wish there was more and that I want to know more but I am far from pissed about it. The best thing about the Star Wars Franchise before Ep 1 and 2 was that it was so open. Expanded Universe, interpretations, mystery. That is what makes something last and keep syou thinking...how does the story of the Bible end again? Oh yeah it truly hasn't been written yet...I guess we can all guess on our own depending on what we believe...

Can you tell I am tired and stayed up too late catching this movie late🙂
Forgive me...I babble

I think Mr.Smith himself experienced a deja vu... I think he's been agent in more than just one version of the Matrix. And I also think that the entire path Neo walked had been laid out... He really didn't have a choice, as the Merv said. Him thinking that he had a choice was just an illusion. The same went for Smithy.

Smithy finally realizes in that scene that he's just a mere puppet, while he think he's a god... He's like Morphy. All of his dreams shattered. 🙁

Poor smithy... He really isn't such a bad guy once you get to know him...

he's not having a deja vu. he has seen what happens cuz he took over the oracle. i think he couldn't see past that one point, couldn't see what he (or in fact the oracle) was going to say, cuz of the 'we can never see past the choices we don't understand' thing.

I am going to have to say that you are all wrong. Every thing that the wach. bros did.. did for a reason. period. Every thing i read from every single one of you guys is purly speculation.. trying to buy other people's attention so that your perspective of the movie is the "right" perspective. Pretty much everything i';ve read in here isn't correct even after the god damn movie's are out and done with. no offense to any of you but i have pretty much had it with every thing you guys say. Everything. not just the bad things, but the everything good and in between as well.

Yeah the fan base is divided - Matrix Online anyone?

Hey sifer sounds great....ok let me sum that up...$50 bucks for the game....a subscription fee...prob a fee per character....oh man i cant wait to give them even more money for crap.

On top of that i hope it's as mediocre as the ETM game. Oh wait am i going to get opinion's on the game as well becuase if anyone here is a gamer like myself you would know that that game was mediocre. All the reviews on that game were mediocre so dont expect much from the matrix online.

the end i did not get, the little girl, i forget her name, said she made something for neo. what was it? and how if something importent did she "make it"? thanks

I am a gamer indeed and Enter the Matrix wasn't mediocre, it was shit 🙂 But the story was well crafted and is the only reason I got it for. BUT the Matrix Online is being developed by Monolith (those responsible for the creation of the Lithtech Engine) and from the gameplay I have seen, it looks very impressive.

But I don't mind paying the £30 for the game of the £10 a month fee because it is something I believe is not only entertaining as a subject but to have me take part in making the future of the Matrix storyline come to life. But that's just me.

lol @ the people who are sortof trying to 'teach' us what the movies were about and all... half of what they're saying doesnt make any sense. let people have thier own opinions for gods sake

Yeah enter the matrix was pure garbage. it was like pong with dvd cut scenes, hell at least pong had cognitive gameplay. Im expecting the matrix online to be pure filth too

Korri> r u still weeping??

Ta-daaaaaaa! I'm here! Seen it!

Yup, much wasn't answered but I don't care, I don't watch films to have every little thing tied up. Enough was answered to keep things consistent.

It was, though, the weakest of the Matrix films. Not because it was rubbish per se, but because it was the most straightforward. I mean, the other films had a certain edge to them in the form of the philisophical context and so on, and whether you liked that edge or not pretty much set whether you liked the films or not. This was a straight action film set in the Matrix continuity rather than something that extended the Matrix domain. And there are a LOT of action movies around. Certainly no room for even considering vague ideas of MWAM- and for that I am of course thankful!

Not to say that I did NOT like it; the Zion action sequences were done well, the end fight was suitably climactic, if a tad silly. I would, of course, like to have seen more kung fu, in that very identifiable Matrix style, to distinguish the film from other action films, but oh well. Shoot out was nice, whilst it lasted...

I felt there was a bit of padding going on with the Hammer- a lot of time dedicated to it getting back to Zion in orde rto help save it, only they don't REALLY save it... basically, what I am saying is is that you could have cut out the Hammer doing that and had the same plot. I suspect this was partly from the need to sustain the action curve over two films... but that filler showed a little for me.

But it DIDN'T make ROTJ's cardinal error and tie up absolutely everything and all in all the film hung together and I enjoyed watching it and ruminating on what may happen next.

As a gamer myself, I can categorcially state that EtM was a bold new vision in gaming experimentation that went badly wrong in development- almost certainly rushed for release, definitely on PC. But it had good bits IN it- the Kung Fu was very neat. The driving sections, though, were shitily shite.

If I can afford it, Matrix On-Line looks good- I suspect there will be less action in it than some people think though. I cannot remember where but I got the impression that combat would be rather more FInal Fantasy style. Don't quote me on that.

Personally I thought it was an ok flick...And I LOVE the series. BUT Smith should have won. I truly don't care one way or another for happy endings. But I DO care for REALISTIC endings, and Smith obviously won. He was right, the ending just "isn't fair" Neo and the source cheated. I would have enjoyed seeing Smith win, he is by and far by then end of the series the coolest character anyway.

And remeber Smith isn't such a bad guy once you get to know him.

Well if u like sad endings, I understand u....but if u think of it, it's an ending that makes u think we could still be in a Matrix, coexisting w/ Zion w/out even knowing it! So really, making Smith win would be a little corny and surreal...I'm sure they wanted us to ponder on our own surroundings...and we know our world is not ruled by a crazy agent program! 🙄

I've posted my opinion. Yes I think it was a let down...but I still liked it none-the-less. I wish some of the questions about certain characters were answered...or even just went deeper into their past. I guess my expectations for the ending were way to sky high to make any ending plausible for me, that being my own fualt. I think things were loosely tied together, but with some questions needing answering, but maybe they weren't answered for a reason, maybe the character development of Seraph, Mero, and Persephone and that kid were unnecessary...maybe the new game will explain. I just think I went in with way to high expectations to feel it was resolved. O well, I guess i ruined it for myself...I just wish we had some closure on above mentioned characters.

Some things shouldn't have to be answered....some things don't HAVE answers!

I like this guy's way of thinking! 😄

Yeah....me too...Again, the problem is choice!

The big question the film left unawnserd is why Neo wanted peace with the matrix, it's after all the most horrible machine wich uses humans as batteries (not really something I would like to make peace with!!!) The Matrix is still alive and is still using humans as batteries ( this was the reason why there was a war).

What is the meaning of the words the oracle says to the achitecht. The ones that want to go are free to go. Who are they speaking about. Programs or the humans. If it meant humans the matrix will have no energie, and I don't think it would alow it.

Maybe the clue to the movie is everything that can think of it self is alive and derserves to live. So also the matrix derverves to live. In the trainstation Neo talked to two computer programs who learnend him that they too have tings like love and friendship.

The sole purpus of living is surviving and thats exactly what the humans and the matrix try to do.

Well anyways the third movie raises alot more questions than that is anwsers.

It's more a truce than a peace. As the Architect says, how long do you really think it will last?

I think if Neo had chosen the other door, it would have gotten rid of the 1000 Smith's anyway, and restarted the Matrix rather than have Neo leave it unrestarted and end the war. Otherwise the war would have been over earlier.
