Yeah it bugged the shit out of me aswell, but what the hell are you going to do other than bit*ch and moan about it. Maybe wait for a directors cut. I mean i seriously i can't understand how we are going to allow princess diaries topple AvP. This is a shame. paul anderson does NOT listen to the fans. His only "fan movie" that was good was mortal kombat. Resident evil was TERRIBLE.... the fans screamed they wanted to see familiar characters... what did anderson deliver? a brief cameo by wesker.
AvP was no different. He claimed that he was a great fan, and i guess he's the only "fan" he really paid attention to. MOST fans wanted the movie either set in the comic verse or the game verse. Neither happened. Fans wanted to see a bunch of fighting. We had ONE fight scene (other than the t-res rampage). Really, even I could write a better script (though because I am not well known for ruining comic/game franchises, fox obviously wouldnt pick me...)

Wow that is amazing. i am just happy for you. Yeah i like shit movies to, it is a guilty pleasure of miine to watch as many bad movies as possible. However, when i see a movie like resurectioni do acknowledge the sheer shitty-ness of the film. you never even got to see a god damn alien in the movie. There were no alien suits, or animatronics. the only time you actually got to see an alien was when they were under water and they were CGI, or the scene with the baby alien at the end. The rest were just close up shots of there heads. I mean really, that is just pathetic. The human baby alien type thing at the end, well i am not even going to touch that rank ball of rotten cheese. not to mention yet another appearance by Ripley. why wont the bit*ch die.
Hate on AvP all you want. the simple fact is that it delivered exactly what it promised to deliver, even if you didnt find that in your own fantasized world of what could have been.,instead of what we got. Anderson combined all aspects of the Avp medium into one movie. everything from, alien, aliens , alien 3. Predaor, Predator 2, and the avp comics and games. I mean what the hell else more did you want? I am sorry to repeat myself from other threads, but i guess some people just can't be satisfied with a good thing.

You are so incredibly dense. How many times have we tackled the issue of not being able to introduce the Game version, or the comic version? I mean fisrt off that just wouldnt have been original. It would also have been Near impossible Considering the budget that he was given. you obviously don't know what the fans want. Everyone fan wanted the orignal aliens and predators, in modern ass kicking fashion Now to answer this most requested aspect of the movie. He had to devote most of the budget into alien and predaotr design, rather than stooping to CGI bullshit. he gave us realism, like the orignals did in an orginal fashion. Anderson tried his God damndeest to answer every fan request. He referced every movie, from alien, aliens,alien3, predator, predator 2, Aliens vs predator comic, and video game. He also wanted to improve the predators weaponry to make them more threatning , withiout there shoulder conons. If this is not the work of a fan, devoted to fans request. Then you tell me what the hell is?
As for Resident evil, yes he did answer as many requests as possible, to deliever the movie into a vialble franchise with breathing room. Also his budget for that movie was Un godly low aswell.

Anderson already said he had his hands tied with AVP ,and that "his version" will be the Uncut version that will be released on DVD.Time restraints, as well as bigwig edits, and a lax special effects crew cost him his ideal movie.

Im sure theyl release the normal Version, a Directors cut, and maybe a Special Edition just because the Predator and alien met, its something to make a special edition about.
And in the Directors Cut... I have no freggin doubt... That there will be alot more fight scenes, with alot more human blood, alot more cussing, and it will be 65% different than the pg-13 movie we saw.

Alien Vs Predator R-version Director's Cut
I read on another film site that Alien versus Predator was an R - rated movie and the studio cut the violent scenes where the humans get killed. There was another plot in the movie that was also cut out. So those of us that went to see the movie got ripped off. I sure hope they release the director's cut on DVD instead of the theatrical version.

Bloody-Disgusting has a report from a recent screening of Alien vs. Predator which included a Q&A with the film's writer and producer Paul W.S. Anderson. Here's an interesting bit...
About the studio's cutting of the film, which he had no control over, he said, and I quote, "All of the best scenes were cut." Anderson was obviously very annoyed at the way the film was released. However, this was not purely because of the PG-13 limitation, which incidentally, the studio enforced THREE WEEKS before the release date! It was always going to be R until then. Part of the reason for the cutting was that some of the effects were not ready by the time the release date came around. The effects team had very little time to do anything.
As far as the content that was cut, apparently we see all those who die, die on screen, but he also said that there is a sub-plot that we will have to wait for on DVD. Yes there will be an R-rated Director's cut DVD although they don't know the release date yet.
