Why do so many people blame Bush for this ban. It is all the damn extremist protestors that make this country a peice of shit and that are tkaing away our freedoms. The word God was almost removed from the pledge of the allegiance because a man felt insulted that his daughter had to put up with this. Apparently he though saying the pledge of the allegiance with the word God in it would convert his daughter. It's not the presidents that will destroy America, they may make bad decisions, but every bad decision a president can make, can be fixed with the next presidency. It is the people that destroy america.

yeah, cause he's religious and can't handle the truth!
he asked for the truth! he couldn't handle the truth!😠
(hmm, watching too many movies) [/B][/QUOTE]
that is purely ignorant and arrogant, assuming you know more about humanties secrets than another person. These are the kinds of people who refuse to think outside of there own perspective that make this planet a harder place to live in.
RR> Firstly Even though the man who petitioned for the romoval of God may have been nuts or whatever. It's giving them a taste of their own medicine. There have been countless occasions where Christians have protested (And won) to change something because it doesn't fully work with their beliefs. Major example is the whole evolution thing that this thread was started on. So Christians can give and not take??
Also Yerss was making fun of Bush. Don't take it so personally. And the thing about perspective. That can esily be reversed on Creationists. Blatenly disregarding evidence for something a dated book tells you is most definitly not thinking outside of your perspective.
i think your mis-understanding me. when i said extremists, i diddnt just mean those against religous beliefs, i meant extremists of all kinds, right, left, independant, religous, etc anyone who goes off on a personal vendetta to change a law, teaching system, freedoms and so on just because it doesnt fit into there daily beliefs. these people deafen the possibility of knowledge.
I wasnt saying that anyone who believes in evolution, and doesnt open there mind to creationlism is small minded. i meant anyone who doesnt think out side of there perception, because they are scared at what they might find, or may not find.

that was a joke, read the entire post next time 🙄
RagesRemorse> I assume people blame Bush, because this medieval law was put into effect with HIS approval. And how much separation of state and church do you have, if you pledge of allegiance deals with religion?
Also – keeping an open mind is very good. But when Creationism is so blatantly flawed and doesn’t have a single shred of the shadow of evidence to back it up, it’s not about being open-minded anymore.
It’s about teaching people not just to accept what some authority says, when there is no evidence.
Doesn’t matter if it’s religious or political. “God created the Earth 6000 years ago” is as stupid as “Iraq has weapons of mass destruction.”
Yers> Maybe you have found a pro-Bushman?
So your trying to tell me that leavng the possibility of religoun open for belief is not being open minded but ignorant? Humanity has no scientific evidence whatsoever of how creation started. Believing a religoun isnt necessarily about believing creatinlism, but more about Faith. It is because of Faith that belief in aGod (creator) cannot be proven wrong, only dissputed. Now evolution is like religoun in this instance for the fact that instead of Faith it has science on it's side. Yes Evolution is a fact in nature. There is even an overwhelming possibility that this is where humanity came from, but not existence itself. I am in no way trying to disprove evolution, i to believe in Evolution, this doesnt mean i cant believe in a God, and if you believe that believeing a God is all about Creationlism, then you have no idea what having Faith is all about.I dont care if you have Faith or not, but know what it is before you debate it. Obviously from your statement above , you are someone who is against people believing in somthing you dont and having open minds to many possibilities.
You also said that when it comes to religoun, It is no longer about having an open mind. This is Insane, Learning about religoun and it's possibilities invokes thoughts, inspirations and idea's. It can give people a possible understanding that they have no idea on. It can give people satisfaction, and inspire them to live great and full lives, this is the power of faith. faith has given us history's best speakers, philosphers, and musicians. So obviously having an open mind twords Religoun can inspire understanding, even if it is your own understanding.
and completly disbanding the possibility of there have been Being weapons of mass destruction in Iraq is completly irrelevent in this conversation, but if you insist, why is it so stupid to believe that there were weapons of mass destruction? I think it is stupid not to. It is a fact that they were there in 99. Suddam had two months notice that the U.S was going to be comming over to search the country, while America tried to go through the U.n and waited. Iraq has the largest Airports expanding across the countries borders, and underground tunnels expanding all underground the cities.
If you wanna get into WMD's.....
THe whole pre-text of the war in Iraq was NOT based on WMD's. But on the fact that Iraq was going to stop selling oil in dollars and possibly de-satbalize the American Economy.
Omega is not attacking your faith. She is saying that believing in creationism is being closed-minded.
