silver surfer vs superman

I talked to my buddy the other day about this fight and he and I didnt agree on it. I think Surfer would win and he thinks Superman will win. These are his arguments.

The energy absortion theory: I told him all Surfer has to do is just drain his solar power he said that in order for Surfer to do that he would have to physically touch him to do that. Then he said that Superman is too strong for Surfer to get that close too and try to hold him while he drains his solar power and will rip his arms off and beat him to death with them in the process. Bascially he said that Surfer has to come in contact with the energy he absorbs.

Then there is the red sunlight or kryptonite rays he could shoot at Superman: His arguments here were that the Superman is too fast to be hit by such and attack and will not allow it to happen granted Surfer is faster but he said that Superman is fast enough to avoid such a attack. Although those would be his only chances.

Again these are not my opinions but they are something to think about but I still think Surfer wins.

your friend has lot to learn about surfer

kgkg didnt drain the Hulks radiation. He just manipulated it to turm him back into Banner. If he aborbed it he most likely wouldnt never be able to turn into Hulk agian.

Superman may or may not be fast enough to avoid an red sunlight or kyrptonite attack. I think he could be fast enough to avoid one.

SS can travel faster than light.

light is 1000000 times faster than bullets which supes failed to stop.

SS is much faster than Superman.

If he aborbed it he most likely wouldnt never be able to turn into Hulk agian.

War of the Gods #4: Superman actually out-raced an energy beam to its target. In JLA: Heavens Ladder, it is stated that Superman can race a photon to its target.

If he can do this he should be able to avoid cosmic blasts and everything else Surfer can thow.

Flash can't achieve beyond light speed without Speed Force.

SS doesn't need anything.

Look at this he couldn't stop those bullets.

Surfer can move beyond lightspeed on Earth?

'Marvel crap' or not, it's canon. Superman or Flash "vibrating" through solid matter sounds like crap. Truth is, Surfer can fly at greater than light speed, even on earth. Superman can't. Your friend has a lot to learn about the Silver Surfer.

Hulk is a gamma ray generator. He makes more and more gamma rays. Surfer absorbing his gamma rays would only stop him from being Hulk temoporarily.

Can you prove that either of these are true? Kgkg's scan proves that Superman is nowhere near lightspeed.

DC does crap too, like bats not ever getting hit on series and comics , by much faster char etc.

Superman states the limits speed limits in issue #207. No one has provided any evidence proving that Superman can go anywhere near lightspeed.

Surfer doesn't vibrate through matter. He phases through it via matter manipulation.

However 'gay' flying at FTL in the atmosphere may be, the Silver Surfer can do it and he has done it. The Speed Force doesn't exist in Marvel. Thoses are the laws in DC's universe, not Marvel's. Who are you to impose such restrictions?

I am saying that the picture proves that Superman is nowhere near lightspeed on Earth. He couldn't react and move fast enough to catch a bullet. That's not even 1% of light speed. Superman's top speed on Earth is Mach 10, max.

Evidence of Superman traveling at light speed anywhere has yet to be provided.

Flash vol. 2 #209 Flash said that Superman was running at OVER 2000 miles per second and not running full bore. I know this is true cause I have the issue and have read it.

That is way faster than mach 10.

In Superman/Batman #13 Superman flew Darksied from Earth to the Source Wall in well it dont say but it couldnt have been to long cause the JLA was still at the Farm when he got back.

Actually if you look at the bottom two panels of the page you see Superman openeing what appears to be a space warp or something so he must be pretty damm fast in space also. When he comes out of the warp or whatever it is he is at the Source Wall.

Space warping explains everything. I wouldn't doubt Superman is faster in space than on Earth, but he certainly isn't faster than light, and he is nowhere near the Silver Surfer's speed on Earth, or in space.
