Yes he can.
The real question is if the Surfer can react as fast as Thor. Just because the surfer can travel FTL in a straightline doesnt mean he has FTL reaction time. Not that it really matters anyway since he doesnt have an attack powerful enough to take Thor out.

SS reaction is much faster than THor.......... SS has search the entire earth in less than a second..... He didn't just go around he had to look for a person.
he doesn't have attack powerful enough to take out THor?
you must be joking Silver Surfer atk the avenger while holding back...... THor says dam that almost killed us all 🙂
that was holding back Surfer.
Another SS thread, why do so many people love SS?
SS speedblitz's Thor and since SS understands how the Odinforce works (after SS combined his powercosmic with Odinforce to bring back Betaray Bill) Thor's best attack to defeat SS has been minimized, unless you count Thor's horrible dialogue which is practically enough to gauge your eardrums!

Similar to Gladiator who has done nothing truly impressive in 20 years, and people think he can go 100 times lightspeed and crack planets into pieces with a couple punches. Or Hulk's feats from the 60's 70's, somehow still get brought up.
SS stops time.THor can't react faster than light speed.

Yes, it was disappointing that they didn't fight--and it's not difficult to figure out why, considering, well, how did Supes put it: "You? You have such power?"

nah, thor can't manipulate time. he USED to be able to but he sacrificed that power to immortus to save a planet. that was a long time ago. 15 years, maybe . . .? 😬

Yes with as many titles as DC uses him to fill I suspect there is plenty of content to draw from.........................that certainly doesn't change his powerset vs Thor's vs SS's............................and this isn't about SM anyway.
SS blasts Thor back to Asgard. Seeing as SS is not only powerful enough to threaten Thor's life but also to heal him Avengers vol 2, #12.

Well, it's not like Marvel ever had a crisis to retcon any thing.
altough SS feats keeps getting better lol ......... can't say the same for Gladiator tho 🙁
Originally posted by AccelNot a definitive moment that I can pinpoint, as I only sparingly collect Marvel books, but trust me, Hulk isn't casually pulling tectonic plates around or holding universes apart with bare hands anymore.. He can barely hold up a mountain. It was more a casual slide into realism I think. Hulk and Thor would probably shit their pants if they saw how powerful they used to be... Iron man too...and many others.
Well, it's not like Marvel ever had a crisis to retcon any thing.
In the newest instance though HOM/Civil War is the "Crisis" that will define the next ten years or so most likely, and of course it was "Crisis" again for DC, as always.
Giant crossovers are seperations of eras of comics.

I know zero details about this power-up...the only reason I know of it at all is due to the SS thread. Personally, I wonder why this upgrade was even necessary (like he wasn't powerful enough). But I figured, as long as it has apparently happened, what does it mean, exactly.

As I mentioned in a prior post, even if 32,000,000 cee is only the Surfer's transit speed, that can still be used to a tactical advantage, long-distance, not in close-quarters combat. Overall, long-distance is probably a better way for the Surfer to fight.

I don't know why others like the Surfer; I can only tell you what I like about him.
1. He does not wear a silly costume; indeed, when he first appeared, he was truly unique in appearance and concept.
2. He is powerful beyond comprehension but seeks peace.
3. He flys standing up. W/o going into a long-winded explanation, I just find that so damn cool.
Originally posted by AvalonofthewindWe don't know yet. The only post-power-up feat we've seen so far is Surfer quickly obliterating a fleet and a small army of "anti-power cosmic" wielders.
What exactly got improved? The only thing that I noticed is that SS will hold back less during fights now. Is there anything else shown in terms of a powerup?
We do know that Surfer has received a power upgrade. Here are Galactus's quotes.
Annihilation: Silver Surfer #3 -
Galactus: I can give you conviction. Conviction -- and the power to see it through...
Later
Galactus: I can heal you. I can renew your will, grant you new power, take away the remorse...
I think that pretty much spells it out. His single panel defeat of a fleet, Ravenous, and the Seekers provide additional evidence.
And to Juntai: I know you'd prefer Marvel characters to have weaker feats when matched against DC, but Gladiator can crack planets with his punches. Like it or not, the DC COIE happened and PC feats were invalidated. Like it or not, Marvel has not a retcon on that level, so their feats from the 60s, 70s, and 80s are still valid.
Surfer himself knows what would have happened if Warlock hadnt saved him. This scan is when after Warlock arrives he wakes up from his first KO.http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e...ns/Warlock2.jpg
This scan is when he wakes up from his second KO:

Certainly the Surfer was not holding back. Tired of being beaten on while holding back he decided he has "held back long enough" and that took it to Thor:

Unfortunately Thor gave it back:

Luckily Warlock showed up before Thor crushed the unconcious Surfer's skull:

The scan at the top of the post is what happens next, ie., he wakes up to find Warlock talking to Thor.
Do you ever notice that Warlock didnt use his gem at all or Dr. Strange not using his other powerfull spell, heck i think Drax w/power gem could have taken him out, they all wanted to subdue him not beat him to submission. I mean they've got a very powerfull line in there lets see; SS, Dr. Strange, Beta Ray Bill, Lady Sip, Thanos w/reality gem, Adam warlock w/soul gem, Drax w/power gem, Moon Dragoon w/mind gem, Pep w/space gem, Gamora w/time gem you're sayin all these guys could'nt beat a 10x Thor (Madness Thor). And you didnt show the pics when Adam was talking to SS about him not being in real danger.
