Silver Surfer vs Thor

Started by Rage.Of.Olympus92 pages

Thor definitely came off as more resourceful through Mjolnir and tougher to me even if I didn't think he was portrayed as more powerful.

They were pretty much equals in the fight under Fraction but Thor looking more dominant while being injured definitely favors him to some degree. Hurting Galactus like he did and claiming a fall that hurt Surfer didn't affect him doesn't hurt either.

So wait whatever happened to that comic Where Silver Surfer was saying and I know these aren't his exact words he said something like/ Dude I can't match the power of Thor with that hammer I'm being boosted by an outside force I'm outta here before this evil dude tries to use me even more.

That was their very first fight. Surfer admitted Mjolnir > Power Cosmic and that Thor had more strength then he could ever possibly know. Tbf to Surfer, Thor was at least as strong as the Hulk at the time and the most powerful hero in Marvel, full stop.

I didn't seem to notice a difference reading the Thor annual but that's just me.

In the Fraction fight Thor may have been wounded, but he was significantly more bloodlusted than Surfer. He even threaten to kill Surfer on mars, and was almost always the one to throw the first punch. Surfer to me was clearly more pacifistic in the fight, and didn't seem to want to fight at all. He even showed concern for Thor's wound mid-fight, right after Thor threaten to kill him. Thor even comments (negatively) on Surfer's "kindness" during the fight.

Whether or not a person is bloodlusted makes a huge difference in a fight. But despite this they still looked equal, and this is post-annihilation Surfer too.

The most recent fight showed me how marvel sees the subject of Thor vs Surfer in this day and age. A stalemate until we see a Surfer who is actually ready to fight Thor.

Thor imho

Surfer was starting to lose his patience near the very end of the fight, after Thor told Surfer pretty much to shove his "kindness." But that biatch Sif had to stop the fight before it got more interesting.

Really? Mjolnir saved them from the Other's consciousness and delivered the final assault. Well, whatever.

To be clear, Thor wasn't blood lusted against Surfer. That was just how Fraction's Thor was written. Even when he threatened to kill Surfer as hard as that is to believe. We also saw that Surfer was just as committed to this fight and he lost his cool at different times. He was however more concerned with Thor then vise versa, that is true. I don't think his mindset would make much difference against Thor though tbh unless he goes CBR with the versatility tricks.

What do you mean Post-Annihilation? He got a power up during Annihilation as far as I recall.

Sup Rage

Hello guy, how you been?

Are you implying that Surfer would win? He had already lost his cool at the latter half of the fight:

Still an inconclusive stalemate. Granted, that might have changed, but somehow I doubt it. And tbh, I consider Thor to be tougher then Surfer so a prolonged battle isn't exactly in his favor.

I don't know about you, but when someone threatens to kill you and is super aggressive, that's what I would call bloodlusted. Thor seemed extra angry and pissed during the Galactus seed arc compared to the others. He seemed especially aggressive toward Surfer for some reason.

Why wouldn't bloodlust make a difference? If two fighters are roughly equal in power their mindsets coming into the fight makes all the difference. If one fighter is significantly bloodlusted and the other is more docile, who will fight harder? Obviously the bloodlusted person will fight harder and more aggressively, and that's what Thor did. So I think Thor's bloodlust and Surfer's pacifism made up for Thor's wound.

😂

The shit talking in this scene was f*cking gold man. Once I looked past the Asgardian characterization of being trigger tempered viking marauders, I enjoyed it.

I liked how Surfer talked down to Thor. I dislike it when he's a complete wimp.

Coin good Rage working much but an infection in my legs can't work til Monday

Coipel needs to draw Surfer more.

Nah, that was just the status quo for Fraction's Thor. I can make a list of all the times he's threatened to kill/maim/destroy/bash in his enemies if you like. He had a very short temper and had no qualms about taking lives. He was aggressive against Surfer in the sense that he didn't try to find an alternate solution but that's about it.

It would in that he'd be more aggressive, but I don't think he'd be any more real headway unless he goes insane and gets retard strength or something. We saw Surfer lose his cool, he didn't make any progress at any point whether he was the aggressor or not, despite Thor's wound. Which is why I think Thor looked more favorable in their fight.
