uh-huh. and it was stated soemwhere byb marvel that glads WAS some kind of rip-off -- not those exact words, but that was the idea.

anywho, your's was a pretty good post jp, but i'd like you to tell me 2 things:

1. when did glads beat thor? issue number?

2. when has glads ever 'ripped a star in half'?

lots is 'said' by/about glads, little is done by him. and i never said this would be an EASY fight, by the way. the only people saying this fight would be easy are the glads fans. still, given his past accomplishments (and lack of) i give it to supes.

Its the same thing in the Thor/Superman thread. All of the Marvel supporters think that Thor wins that fight easily.

Same thing here. Its not gonna be a easy fight either way.

People say Gladiator destryoed a planet with 3 punches, which was how long ago? People also say "If you think about Gladiators greatest showings, he should be able to beat Superman." But for some reason, whenever some of Supermans greatest showings are mentioned, people turn cheek and say "Pre-Crisis...blah blah."

Even in recent Superman comics which was about 2 or 3 months ago, when he was talking with Superboy. It was stated that Superman could destroy half the planet with a sneeze. A SNEEZE!!

Which do people think is more powerful destroying a planet with a few punches, or a sneeze?

"You're lucky Adam, that punch would have split the moon in half."

Well if we're going by words, Superman is FREQUENTLY called Limitless, Unlimited, and that his powers derive from an infinite source. Even Mongul said his potential was unlimited when he was training him for the coming of Imperiex. In Superman BURN they say his powers, and particularly his heat vision is unlimited and incaculable. Which is impressive given humans even in real life have guaged the power of stars.

But since we're not.
Superman still has millions more canon feats.

Yeah, one of them he was struggling to pull the moon.

actually it was scanned not too long ago, though i don't recall the issue. point is, supes is also capable of destroying a moon/planet. that hunk of rock glads destroyed because he pitched a fit was never described in terms of size so who knows how big it really was. supes would never fly to a moon/planet and punch it and destroy it just because he was feeling pissy -- but that doesn't mean he's not CAPABLE of doing it.

Gladiator is so overated, hardly any people that arent comic addicts know who he is. Gladiator is no where near Superman's Level, pretty much no one is near Supe's level except Thor, but Superman still beats the crap out of Thor. Superman isnt unbeatable(becuz of people with weakness's help) but he is still the greatest hero there is.

The name Gladiator is from A Philip Wylie novel that inspired Siegel and Schuster to come up with Superman.

Kallark is a play on Clark, as is Gladiators origin.

And another was pushing a planet by himself against FTLS engines.

yep glads even has a cousin

i remember the name bit - you mentioned it before. funny people STILL think he's NOT a supes knock-off.

anyway, kg, you keep bringing up the 'amp speed' of thor. but i don't understand why. glads caught the ship thor was in, then they fought like normal. it lasted a short time and both got in a shot, end of story. nothing settled - though glads did say thor's power beggared description and that thor's strength was the equal of his own. thor's 'amped speed' came courtesy of the ship he was in. it's not like they were fighting at superspeed - at least not relative to someone who's pov was INSIDE the ship. i don't understand why you keep bringing up the amped speed.

It really shows the turnover of members on this board Leo, most are only here a very short time.

Destryoying the moon?

I've seen him graze the surface of the moon, not destroying it.

Gladiator did smash a planet to pieces - it wasn't stated but done.

But was it in continuity 🙂
