No. He didn't split it in half. Some bum at Superherochat.net tried claiming Supes did split in half, no one bought that shit and laughed at his ass. All Supes did was grazed the surface.

Why would he graze the Moon? It makes no sense. Every issue summary I read online said he split the Moon in half. Take it how you want it.

He's so limited in power that I think it's silly to compare him to someone like Surfer, who is 10 leagues above him in almost everything.
What Superman has the most of, is what Cosmics don't need/want.
Strength and....what else? Ice breath? hah. Wind breath? haha... Medium level durability? It's common. Lightspeed? He's slow compared to 100x FTL cosmics. Heat Vision? That's his only impressive power, and it's an average Herald's blast.
What about:
Molecular control? None.
Telepathy? None.
Offensive TK? None.
Magic? None.
Transmutation ability? None.
Time control? None.
Reality control? None.
He's low, low level herald. Above Nova, but way below Surfer.
