The Bible

It doesn't matter if it is fake or real? Then what's the point in asking for proofs? Why do we tests things for? If some religious nut goes crazy for a holy relic scam then that's his/her ignorance! What's important is to find the object, then tested, then announce if it is real or not. If some nutcase out there still believes is real thing despite the fact is fake then let the lunatic go haywired. But if it is real.....then humanity will forever be change.

because people that are not religious nuts still want to get the truth, they want pure scientific tests, theories etc.

a nut will not care what the results are, he will bend it to suit his religion, happened before, will happen in the future

yerssot who really cares if some nut claims to be right? Come on! People out there are still trying to find the fountain of youth in Florida. Do you think is worth wasting our time listening to their claims which have nothing to back up? We are streching the argument here. Not only people that are not religious want facts. People that are from other religions will want to know the facts of any discovery. Including any tests performs to that discovery. If some nutcase out there don't care for results or tests why deal with them?

I do, cause ultimately, those nuts will come into THIS thread and spread utter lies about those things and will not back down when they realise they are wrong.

Then if you know they are lies why waste your time with them? You know the facts and you know those nuts (which btw-I don't think is right to refer to your fellow KMCers that way) are NOT going get convince by anything you have to say. Can't change a person's opinion when they think they are right. Even worse can change a person's opinions when they think they are right ALL the time. Besides who am I to say some else is wrong? I could be wrong too. Don't you think?

look at this thread WD and the evolution one, ... we waste time cause we try to jam some common sense into them

and I'm sorry, but if you believe something word by word without having ANY questions, you ARE a nut in my book.

and you would be wrong or right, if it is scientificly proven what it all is, then that is the answer

I've seen this thread many times and I seen the Evolution thread. What I notice here is a debate. What I notice back at the other I saw a knitting circle of atheists saying "OOoooh can't wait for christian to post so that I can proven 'em wrong LOL!!!!lol!!llol!!." Now, really! What is it about? Having a debate or having poking fun at some board member because he has a certain faith on god?

As I told you before you cannot convince someone that has already set their minds on an topic. No way! No matter how much common sense you think you're jamming into a person it won't work! Is a waste of time. I don't know how much you appreciate time, but I sure as heck do! I ain't gonna waste my time argurment with nutcase! Whether that nutcase is religious nut or science fanatic! No way, am I going to waste the time posting replies because it doesn't work. They don't care and are not willing to read a different opinion.

In my book when a person belives word by word he/she isn't a nutcase. That person is just not properly informed. If they show signs of interests or are willing to read different arguments. Then that person is worth posting for.

To be fair we say creationists, and we do that because we wanna educate people.

What is education then?

Teaching the common sense on a topic, the most accepted theory as a fact?
Not going into any compromises?

How do you define education?

There are ways to educate people. Using a message board isn't effective. Besides in order to educate there has to be supervision. I doubt there is any...so just have your fun....is pretty much the same to me anyways....

I and I am pretty sure that any other in the evolution thread have absolutley NO problem with people's religion. If you take a look again, you'll see those people post there with half-arguements, blabant lies and just change topic when they get questions to answer. Why should WE bother with being nice to them when it takes them MONTHS to answer a question (still don't think TF ever did that) or just go on a hissy-fit. Respect comes from two ways, and up till now I have to say, I haven't seen many from their side...

well, then they shouldn't go to a thread in the first place if they are not interested in having a debat. What's the point? you go and say you believe this or that and leave? Stay and talk to others, come to a better judgement yourself... THAT's the point and unfortunatly some just don't see that

and in my book, someone who is not properly informed isn't a nutcase, but just mal-informed or not-informed
probably just language-feeling I don't possess I take

Maybe they don't hold all the answers? Maybe they they think they do know? Who really knows if they do? And why go too much in depth as to what those people think? Is like I ask you before about talking to a priest. You said you did and even read the OT. Didn't you get any interesting insights from that man? I'm sure that man gave you somet interesting arguments. As for those that posts nonsense....you don't have to be nice nor you have to be rude (not saying you or your atheists buddies are) to those people. It just seems to me that you are spending too much time with those people.

They way I see it is that you can post your thoughts and ideas. To ask for explanations is bit harder. After all, it is easier to ask a question than to answer it. Right?

Not everybody is willing to have a debate. They see a title make a post and that's it! Whatever insight you may want to go into with that person it is up to that person to reply or not. As I said before some people are not experts they can't hold all answers. For example...me! I reply to my best of knowledge. Some asks me "Does God exists" What do I reply? I reply with the best answer I can provide. My knowledge is limited and I know my limits so I know when is a good time to post a reply. Certain people do not know what their limits are. They just assume what they think they know.

Now, just to get back on topic...I've decided to keep posting in this thread any updates or reports about archeological discoveries regarding the Bible. I feel that there is quite a lot of interesting stuffed happening in those digging sites. I don't questions the motives of archeologists simply because I know that further testing and examinations will determine the authenticity of the object. For me the Bible is not all fiction. There is something that did happen ages ago and I'm sure we are in the process of uncover what happen with the help of archeology. That is all for now.

you cant remove some1's faith, but u can introduce proven facts into the equation so that they can have a full insight into what they're beleiving in, and make their decisions based on the whole story

i never try convince people not to beleive, i try to help them see as much about wat they beleive in as i can so they can decide for themselves

if sum1 doesnt want to debate about something, they shouldnt post, its a forum...if some1 says "i beleive in god" they should expect their post to be questioned and probed etc, if they dont want that to happen...why are they posting it on a public discussion board?

WD... wanna drop this all and stick ontopic or should I reply?

Read the last paragraph of my post above. 😉

it is sort've ontopic tho... discussing whether som1's opinion on the bible can be changed, has to do with their opinion on the bible surely?

yeah, but that's not a real answer now is it 😛

ok, should we all just post "yes" or "no" then?

yes
