I know and they try to smoke as little as possible when we're around

From 1 December 2004 on, teenagers under 16 will be prohibited to buy cigarettes. In theory...

it is 18 here in Norway and has been so for ages

why should non smokers get their way everywhere, there can be bars/pubs for smokers and bar/pubs for non smokers.

there can't because you'd never make enough profit only catering to one of these groups.

Smokers may smoke their lungs out but simply not where they inflict smoke on others.

baning smoking is the same conservative idea as it is to make abortion illegal

no its not (making abortion illegal is stupid, as ive said so in the other tread). the fact is smoking has been proven to kill people, so why should non smokers have to suffer? they should have the freedon to enjoy life as much as smokers, they shouldnt have to sit in smoke filled bars if they dont want to. they should be allowed to enjoy a drink(alcoholic or not) and have a good time. an all out ban is ridiculous, but most (not all) smokers are unwilling to compromise, therein lies the problem.

because no publican in his right mind would ban smokers from his bar. he'd go bankrupt. plus i'm sure most people (as i do) have smoking friends.

Is it true that they can make cigarettes with out the carcinogenic components (a bit like nonalcoholic beer)? And if it were true would people contine to smoke if the cigarettes didn't continue the addictive/dangerous ingredients?

we dont need cell phones that is a new age phenomenon, wasnt cell phones around when I grew up and I still manage to be without one.
