The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

Hmm, I haven't truly started the game yet. Just been running around and getting the feel of the gameplay. However I realise now that I don't want to be a spellcaster (having a 60 Warlock on WoW), I especially realised this after having to pause each fight to remember what hotkey was what spell and to scroll on the nonhotkeyed spells. However could anyone try to explain the differences between Assassin, Rogue and Thief?

I actually got lucky finding the other things. I bought the Nightshade from a few different shops, bought the bloodgrass from some place in Imperial City, and bought the garlic from a few different inns and lodges. Killing the vampire did turn out to be sort of challenging (he doesn't use any weapons, but he has awesome blocking and hand-to-hand abilities) but I made sure to keep my distance and weaken him with spells/arrows before going in for the kill.

Besides accidently killing the Argonian I was getting blood from, I'd say it all went pretty smoothly. ๐Ÿ˜›

By the way, when you get the cure, make sure you bring it back to that guy. You'll get a reward. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, I just reached level 15, I believe, and have a little over 9,000 gold. Does anybody know where I can get a cheap house (something like 5,000 gold, maybe?)

Hey I did the same thing, bought all my stuff ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

I know where you can get one for 10,000....but if you want a shack, there's one for 4,000 in Bravil

honestly in this respect, its possibly better to customize your own 'stealth' class.. because these three share mostly the same attributes save for 1 or 2 major skills... rogue is like the pirate swashbuckler type.. archery too.. think robin hood I guess.. thief is all about snagging stuff so it relies mostly on 'security'.. then theres assassin which depends on 'sneak' to survive.. and secondly security if you want to make a quiet entrance

I'll find the exact difference between the classes in a lil bit.. I just woke up >_<

I'm all hyped up for this game....I'm getting my copy next week. Soooo much looking forward to countless hours of gameplay...

To be Continue...

Theif relies on stealth to go kill and lvl up and all that :-S

Thief Majors - Security , Sneak , Acrobat , Light Armor , Marksman , Mercantile , Speech

Assassin Majors - Security , Sneak , Acrobat , Light Armor , Marksman , Blade , Alchemy

Rogue Majors - Block , Blade , Athletic , Illusion , Alchemy , Light Armor , Mercantile

as you can see there are subtle differences.. so better to just 'customize class' or something

Well guys, I got the game for the 360, Gamestop was having a buy two get one free sale for used games, so I needed another game and this was the one I chose. It looks really pretty on the 360, the lighting is superior from what I can tell, it also runs very smoothly. Though, no mouse/keyboard hurts a little.

Has anyone completed all the missions for a Guild? I've been playing through Dark Brotherhood quests like mad, but they just keep going on and on....how many missions does a Guild have until you finish it?

I still havent bothered with buying a horse yet, Im gonna wait a bit and try and capture that unicorn...that'd be a sweet ass ride...

I've been trying to find the unicorn. Do you know where it is? It would complete my Gandalf look. And all the guilds have a different number of quests. I've completed the Mages, Dark Brotherhood, and Arena and am on my way in the Fighters Guild and Thieves guild.

Yeah, the darkbrotherhood quests tend to get boring and alot tougher when you start taking orders from Lucien Lachance. You'll find out why later. When you get the quest to kill a woodelf in Bravil near a statue, you know you're getting towards the end. It has a pretty good story line.

What's wrong with being a spellcaster? Once you reach the higher levels they tend to become more powerful than thieves and fighters, especially since they get enchanting and spellmaking, which are pretty much exclusive abilities to the Mages Guid, including a kick-ass staff that you get once becoming an apprentice in the guild.

They also have pretty much every ability of a thief in the schools of Illusion and alteration, which are basically security, sneak(chameleon workes better,) and speechcraft (charm).

What I usually do for the hotkeying problem (which I also have) is to put one spell of evey school of magic on it that you tend to use so you don't get mixed up. Like if you tend to use fireballs, only hotkey one destruction spell or if there's one illusion spell that you find useful hotkey it.

The Theives guild can be a b!tch sometimes. There are 2-3 quests in there whre you HAVE to be caught, there's like no way. for example, on the last quest they give you, you have to steal one of the elder scrolls. you have to break into the castle and crap in the imperial, so yeah that one will be a b!tch lol!

did you hear about bethesda charging pc users like 2 dollars for a mod that puts armor on the horses ๐Ÿ˜‚

yeah, i saw it ๐Ÿ˜›

That's really annoying.

I hate how the monsters go right for the horse and not you. It basically makes me use the fast travel to different cities because my horse dies every time.

Ahhh its really annoying.
Its funny, you can heal yourself, but not the horse. What the ****.

Its funny that I killed my adoring fan from the arena when we went into an dungeon. All the skeletons went for him. Poor dude.

maybe the potions don't have the ingrediants for a horse o.O . And they go after the horse first because they want you to walk ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

๐Ÿ˜ฌ explain how you got past the guard that was guarding that house and you had to break in to plant the evidence? He was like RIGHT there at the house, it's impossible to get in without notice :/

Saved beforehand, waited until he had his back on me and the eye was dim, and went for it. Took a couple tries, but it was certainly possible. ๐Ÿ˜›

boot heaviness is also a factor in detection.. my book recommends sneaking around with no shoes on

Yup, but now that I'm an expert in sneaking, I can run around with the heaviest boots on, and as long as I'm in the darkness, it won't affect my sneak factor. ๐Ÿ˜›
