Revenge of the Sith- Oscars? (Merged)

Doesn't everyone know that?

on ROTS: I was actually very impressed with the CG. Most of it was great. Excellent even. There were parts that looked bad... for example most of the digital jumps, the clonetroopers were a lot better but still had problems, some of the shots of the ships looked a bit off too.

Yoda is superb, as is Grievous.

Well...I didn't think it would get a VFX nod after seeing it on film...as the head replacements and some cgi/real element mixture didn't blend well...but after seeing it digital...I think it has a real chance for a nod and MAYBE a win.

YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS DIGITAL! Its the way to go...even the head replacement looks better.

I just saw ROTS last night and the special effects were spectacular. I have faith that it would win.

Revenge of the Sith has more than 2,200 visual effects shots, surpassing the records of the previous Star Wars movies and dwarfing those of other visual effects spectaculars, like the Lord of the Rings trilogy. "There are some shots with 50 or 60 different elements, most of which most people will never even realize are effects," says producer McCallum. Many of those "invisible" effects were critical in creating the eight planets that appear in the movie -- the most in any Star Wars film.

i love the start when grievous's ship starts breaking in half....god...that was awesome..😄

I'd like to see more posts here, now that ROTS has come and gone.

I really hated some of the Clone Trooper shots... some were worse than in Episode II.

The ones where Bail goes to the Jedi Temple are great though... espicially the close ups. And also, the ones who turn on Ki Adi Mundi.

But there were some really bad shots... like on Kashyyyk. They all looked bad on Kashyyyk.

Yoda was ****ing A! As was Grievous. Ditto the Boga.

I think it has a good chance for the oscar... though, I doubt it'll get it. Movies such as War of the Worlds which integrate CG more with real elements will get it. Or possibly Kong, seeing as the academy loves Peter Jackson. Narnia looked like crap though in the trailer.

Funny, I thought the Clone Troopers looked great on Kashyyyk, especially when those two tried to execute Order 66 on Yoda.

But yeah, Yoda was awesome. On par with Gollum.

Nah, I didn't like the Clone Troopers at all on Kashyyyk. They just looked so cartoony. Even in the Order 66 shot. I think it's all the green... just gives it a cartoony feel. Not great CG there.

And the digital double work was quite bad also. That is: Dooku's jump; Obi Wan's jump - one of the better ones; when Obi Wan is thrown by Dooku and hits the rail - unrealistic, awful; Palpatine's jumps in the Mace duel - not really bad CG, just out of place; Obi Wan hanging on over the ledge in the Grievous fight.

I have to admit there are probably many mores digital shots I didn't even notice as being digital... it will be interesting to watch the documentary.

Also... there were two scenes that were very heavy on CG, and it was quite apparent.

They both took place during Order 66. The scene in which Plo Koon gets gunned down was not great. The CG Clone Pilot hand was really bad. And the scene that followed with the female Jedi getting gunned down on the speeder bike... that was also pretty bad. The planet the Twi'lek Jedi gets killed on was quite nice I thought, and well done. As was the planet Ki Adi Mundi is on.

If they don`t give it to ROTS, I will personally take the Oscar from the winner and give it to Lucas!!! Anyone with me?

(if Spidey 2 could, why not Sithie?)

Devi|....you're forgetting the terrible head replacements!!!!!! Just make a damn suit of armor...cheap bastards.

I think ILM and Lucas need lifetime achievement awards much more than an Oscar for this film. THAT is what I want to have happen.

I know I've said this before, but I'm REALLY hoping ROTS gets the Oscar, mostly becuase it's the last one.

The twi'lek planet was a model. So that probably was the reason it looked more real.

Gah! Don't even get me started on Temuera's floating heads... It just makes me so annoyed they didn't just make ONE ****ing suit. Surely it would have been less of a hassle...

Really? It was a model? It looked good. Some damn fine model work there...

😎

Unintentional post.

*burp*

Unintentional beltch!

😂

Still bitching about nothing, huh?
After seeing and analizing the movie a number of times, I can definately say the effects beat ANY other film in both volume and quality.
Who flippen cares about one or two dogdy composites.
But anyway, I won't disturb your flamingsession any longer.

I agree Pogel.

Didn't you say a while back that you weren't going to post in this thread anymore?
