Thanos is listed as a "trans-tier" level character.

I proven sufficient strength, better reflexes, and better mobility.
In X-men days of future past, quicksilver could easily beat everyone in the film. Why? Because everything was frozen to him, or in slow motion.
This fight with Thanos would be similar. Even if Thanos hand is raising in slow motion to react to a bullrush, Gladiator would simply see his hand raising and adjust according. He has nanosecond reflexes. So once Gladiator closes the distance then he would get hit far more times than the other way around. These won't be love taps either. They will he hard shattering hits that will greatly rock Thanos.
Thanos isn't trans when it comes to strength, speed, or durability against blunt force. The combination that make him trans is
trans durability against energy,
smarts,
versatility (in shields, force blocks, different ways to blast, tp, etc),
high herald level strength,
high herald level blunt force durability,
and trans level blast power
But the speed and reaction advantage offsets many of those attributes (from the quicksilver example)

If Thanos swats away an energy blast shot at him at point blank, well it doesn't count, even though energy blasts are likely faster than bullets.

Look at it this way: if what you are saying is true, then any time Thanos decides to fist fight against a high herald one-on-one, the contest should be pretty close. But that isn't what happens. Yes, but he can not get past this being a forum match, and that being a comic book, which we should all draw our examples from... well, at least to a major extent. This is something that h1 has not been able to fully put together harmoniously, and so he states many things that could make sense, while ignoring what has actually happened for good or ill on panel. Thanos can react to speedsters, and has for one, and speedsters have been shaken by characters with great combat mechanics/agility for two. I remember running after this kid, that I could beat in a foot race without a problem, but when he darted from side to side while trying to get away from me, it took all of the speed that I had to barely catch him, this could have also resulted in me twisting my ankle if I was less fortunate. Just an example.

He literally stuck his hand up to block a Surfer blast, which travel pretty fast and then smacked him out of midair before Surfer could accomplish anything else. Unless he already had safeguards in place before the battle, I can't see how him being ready does anything to diminish the actual
Is your argument seriously that "He saw them and therefore it doesn't count!"? I am completely baffled by what you want out of these occasions. Should Thanos exclaim mid rush that "No stop for a moment. I saw you mid action and therefore it doesn't count if I hit you. Redo that. This time I'll close my eyes and blindly hit you because that shows relevant battle speed more!"?
