To us in Europe Rugby Union (and League) is played by super fit guys who need no real protection and who can get battered, clattered, punched and run constantly for 80 minutes with only a short break in the middle. The team work involved is immense and it stirs real emotion to see players protecting their team mates at all costs.
So, would an American Footbal team beat a Rugby team at Rugby? Absolutely not, never, it's just not possible.
So, would an American Football team beat a Rugby team at American Football? I'm guessing here but I would say it's not likely once the rugby players have spent 5 minutes (maybe 6🙂) reading up on the rules and making up a basic strategy.
1. We already proved the padding is because the hits are much harder.
2. The stripes are more than aesthetic, they protect against the glare of the sun. "Because black attracts heat and light so by placing the black lines under there eyes it keeps the sun out of there eyes"
3. The commercial breaks only come when the production team knows there will be a break in play. American Football has more rules and the commercial breaks allow sufficient time for the offensive players and the defensive players to switch up. It keeps us from needing to watch this boring transition.
4. Football has this same team play. It's a TEAM SPORT you dolt. They do all they can to protect their fellow teammate.
5. You have no proof that a Football team can not beat a Rugby team at Rugby, you are just going by personal preference.

With this post you have proven yourself to be more ignorant than I originally thought. You know nothing of the game of football and yet you try to put the sport down by making baseless comments on face paint and padding. Go read up before trying to debate, get the **** out of this thread.
