I'd have to say, however, that Mace's most impressive feats are in the ways he manipulates his physical self with the Force. There are far too many to list, but here're a couple.
- Against Kar Vastor, he launches himself with such speed and power that he and the shaman are suspended in the air for enough time to engage in a short, airborne brawl.
- In the same battle, he fires off six combination blows - two elbows, a pair of crosses, a knee to the midsection, and a palm to the face - before his enemy can blink.If you want martial and dueling feats as well, I can provide some.

Mace could own Sidious but Sidious held back because he was the key to Anakins turning to the dark side and sidious knew that Mace would come after him and tell Anakin to stay at the temple.
However when Mace didn't die like the other masters and began to win in the batlle, Sidious knew that mace was using a style that was too strong from him he began to strugle and was about to be killed but Anakin interupted, afterall Mace was only second in command of the jedi because Yoda was wiser and was strong with the force.
Sidious would be owned by mace because he used an inferior style and Sidious' main power, force lightning can be blocked by a lightsaber. Also sidious is a schemer, he planned his empire over many years and the only reson he has his power is from a kyber crystal. He is an equal to yoda in style and force power so its a stalemate and yoda knew that clone troopers would arrive soon so he escaped.
Sidious could beat Mace. Mace was struggling to hold back the lightning, and probably couldn't do it for much longer. Sidious could shoot out lightning for longer than Mace could hold it off, and Mace would be overwhelmed. Unless you didn't notice how after Sidious pretended to be weak, he screamed "Unlimited power!!!" and fried Mace.

Lucas said himself that Mace overpowered Palps, and the whole" Mace is key to Anakin turning dark" think is inane for reasons already mentioned by others.

By that logic, 3 corpses would do just fine. It's sci-fi. Common sense doesn't ALWAYS apply in movies. I think that's what alot of people around here forget. Can't always make sense out of everything.
you guys always ignore the fact that sidious is equal to yoda in fighting and force powers, and mace admits he's not as good as yoda, yet you go on saying oh yeah mace would win, i dont see how thats possible, i mean then there's that argument how sidious saber technique was not as good but we know he is trained in all forms, and can probably do what yoda does and power up his body making him super fast and strong even though he's so old. Mace is not as strong or stronger then sidious, he cant hold off lightning like yoda, how funny that sidious was losing to mace yet was laughing his head off fighting yoda who is better then windu, also tyrannus is afraid of sidious and is basically his second in command and puppet, yet he's one of the only guys who's ever beaten mace windu in a sword fight. Its been stated that during the battle with anakin vs dooku, dooku wasnt afraid cause he thought if he'd lose sidious would stop anakin.......didnt happen.
sidious>mace in force powers, mace>sidious in saber abilities...and really that's probably only because he didn't have the means and freedom of time to practice his dueling skills over the past 13 years. However, he did force Mace into a defensive position and to back up, so overall, Sidious would take mace, imo.
