he's more skilled than before, yes, but he's nowhere near what he should be. and that whole mystique thing wasn't really that long ago...
Iceman is currently more powerful than he has "ever" been. He just takes a back seat.
If he does appear in an X-men comic, he basically does nothing. He just disappears for basically the entire issue.
It's just that writers seem to not let him do anything.
He lacks quantity of feats, but he has the quality of feats. When he does use his powers, he is shown to be above almost all X-men members, past and present.
He is one of the most powerful X-men ever.
It's that reason in my opinion he doesn't have the luxury of cutting loose or showing off. It's writers intent more than anything else.
Some times he just is obviously holding back.

can? maybe. would? not for a majority, imo.
In my opinion he does.

because as i said, he's not half of what he should be.
What's is he supposed to be in you're opinion exactly?
He is already the strongest member of the X-men currently, and one of the strongest X-men ever as well as one of the most powerful mutants on the planet. Throw in the fact that he is stronger than ever, and he could solo almost all of the X-men's problems. That's probably the reason why he barely appears in any issues.

you realise i went through all this with mindset... 😛
King D I'm glad you are handling those questions. Iceman is just begining to understand what he can do. He still has not reached Omega level threat yet. If he reached that level their would be only a handful of characters that could give him a serious fight. Marvel's definition of an omega level mutant: Omega-level include immortality, extreme manipulation of matter and energy, high psionic ability and the potential to exist beyond the boundaries of the known physical universe.

technically, if you reside within a city inhabited by such... porcine, individuals, do you not share their traits?
And wow, that's a deep philosophical question considering the topic (douches.)
