Okay you realize posting the definition of a soul is well..you see, we have no actual way to quantify souls. We have no idea what death does to your soul, we have especially no idea what happens when your body is destroyed and you reform as a super powered being.
You really have no way to prove he lacks a soul. You also act like the guy became emotionless, except he didn't. Emotionless people do not have girlfriends. He certainly became a lot more detached after his transformation, but you're acting like he was the terminator or something. If he had no emotions he wouldn't of given a shit whether or not Rorshach went and told the world what Ozy did.
Why does an emotionless soulless being care what happens to Earth? Why does he care to prevent nuclear war? Explain. Why does a soulless being decide to leave and go create life?
Doc has decent feats all around. He can explode people and transmute and survive bodily destruction. The problem is Surfers powerset is essentially a cosmic swiss army knife, he is far too versatile. You need to either be able to outspeed him and take him down quickly, or have all kinds of resistances to esoteric effects.
I wouldn't say the character should not be used, people just need to really consider the things he actually does on panel when determining a suitable opponent.

Can Dr Manhattan be killed though? Because the dude was like, atomized and still came back.
He can't be physically killed. Well, he can, but you'd need someone with enough power to make him stay dead and stop from reforming. Surfer can't do that. Unfortunately though, being able to reform your body doesn't protect you from esoteric attacks like soul rips. Likewise, other non-physical powers like telepathy would work, he still has a mind that can be shut down.
If you took away his more esoteric powers it would just be a stalemate then. Surfer could just keep destroying Doc's body the second it reforms.
I forget if Surfer is capable of dimension dumping someone? If so, that is another way to win. Since while he can teleport, I'm pretty sure we never saw Doc showing he could teleport across dimensions.

Not really. Compared to the scope of surfers powers and sheer volume of his feats it's spite. He literally faced noone. His biggest opponent was a tank. Magneto would take him for the majority imo. U could literally put him against anyone high meta and above and he'd lose due to feats

Yes but he is Silver Surfer. Not being strong enough to beat him doesn't mean he shouldn't be used at all.
I'm afraid I don't see how Magneto takes him out permanently. He can't attack his mind or soul or anything. I seem to remember reading Magneto once opened up a wormhole with his powers, so I guess if that is something he can normally do he might win. The wormhole wouldn't kill Doc, but I don't know how he'd return from it.

Lol @ Mag taking him out.
Nice trying to squeeze that by.
DM atomizes Mags instantly.

Magneto isnt getting atomized instantly 😐
