Speculation: Who is R.A.B. ????? (Spoiler Alert)

I still don't believe it's Regulus. It isn't enough evidence to satisfy me. And we don't even know how old the note is. It could be after Regulus's death, and no one knows for sure that his middle name starts with an a.

Nobody believes entirely that is is one person yet, for there are too many loose ends.

All I was saying was Regulus is our best bet right now. We have no other hard evidence, so further speculation of this issue is pretty much pointless. 😉

I don't see how Regulus is 'our' best bet. All of the things you've pointed out or just coincidence. Many people have got killed by the Dark Lord. The locket could belong to the Black family and no one but J.K Rowling knows his middle name, if she plans on giving him a middle name. Regulus was only mentioned once in the book, and it wasn't a in depth description of him. Most likely it would be a new character, if not Madam Bones or Regulus.

Thats what makes him such a good bet. As you said he was mentioned just ONCE, why mention him at all if hes not important? Sirius would have been fine with being an only child. Why did JKR feel the need to mention Regulus, if he's not important? You see him only being mentioned once makes him an even more of a bet. If he got mentioned many times then he wouldnt be as good of a bet. Mention someone once and he'll come back. Just like the Lovegoods.

I thought I was talking to myself too, for a moment. I really don't pay attention to the usernames. anyway...Madam Bones was mentioned too, so she could be important also. I think she has more to do with the story then having to do with the Ministry.

No. It could be Madam Bones. But I dont think it is. And i dont want it to be. Same thing with Regulas though, His middle name could be Andrew, or anything that begins with an A. But i dont want it to be him either.

Why don't you want it to be them. Do you mind explaining a little?

I dont like when one of the most unimportant person all of a sudden is very important. I want it to be somebody new.

It could be Madam Bones; it could be a new character. All's I was saying was, Regulus is best logical choice we have, as of yet.

True, everything I mentioned could be all coincidence. Obviously. The book hasn't come out yet, so we don't have any facts yet. This is all mutual speculation, and so far, the clues point towards Regulus. ✅

I do not care if it is a new character, but I'm sort of hesitant to the thought of a new character, as important as this one would be, just being introduced in the seventh book. Anyone else share these feelings?

I agree with you hotsauce...I would much rather it be someone we have heard of. Ties into the whole story better that way.

Regulus had an uncle Alphard. That seems like a very trivial detail for JK to give us, however if Regulus' middle name was Alphard, then that particular piece of trivial information is suddenly a trivial clue, such as those hidden throughout all of the texts.
