Do NOT edit my quote again, or I will issue you a ban. This is your warning.

As for the argument - things are not black and white. The world you're living in is a dichotomy, as for the rest of us, it is not. So to make everyones life easier, go move to Chine, Saudi Arabia and Iran - you'll fit in better there.

What the hell? Get off your power trip. (Don't try to deny being on one, since you didn't care when I did it to someone else.) It's not as though I maliciously edited your post to mislead others and made it seem like you had actually said that which I had changed.

Anyway.

I never said that everything was black and white. I said that there are certain things that, no matter what, will always be wrong. However, there are some people in society who will try to mislead others with the idea that, because one person may not have the same beliefs as another, some things are okay and "right" to that person.

Uh...nope. Some acts will always, always, ALWAYS be wrong. No matter what.

I'm undecided. Some people might deserve it because of they gruesome crimes. But if a man or women is falsely accused of something and is facing a death penalty, it would make for a bad mistake....

Agreed.

The idea of moral relativism is what allows some truly malicious and evil people to justify some absolutely horrible acts (Hitler) and allow these justifications to be taken to heart by way to many people.

If that were the case. SpellJammer would be a die-hard liberal. They control the media, our libraries, our schools..

Look up the word liberal and give me an example of liberal control over any of those institutions.

FOX may be somewhat conservative, but it's hardly comparible to the MANY liberal outlets. MSNBC News, The New York Times, hell, it's even effecting our comedy as SNL has become a cespool of cheap shots at president Bush. Which by the way proves liberals have no
sense of humor..

Somewhat conservative. The entire channel is broadcast in red, white and blue. It has ONE non-Republican anchor that you could think of (Alan Colmes). Where's the rest of the "balance"? Fox News drapes itself in the American flag to avoid scrutiny. And as for SNL, yeah, you're right, since when were public figures fair game for satire? It's not SNL's fault for making fun of Bush when he gives them so much ammunition.

Originally posted by Spelljammer There's more liberals then conservatives. So what does this tell you?

If that were the case then how did Bush "win" the last election? There aren't more people that would could themselves liberals, but there are more people who believe in liberal principles. The problem is, most Americans aren't aware of what the definiton of liberal actually is. The majority of the American media does not promote progressiveness, it in an Orwellian manner uses symbols and imagery, not arguments, to convince people that there is no alternative to the old ways.

maybe you should rethink where you stand. And come to the relization that you're just being used by the liberal hive-mind. The sooner you accept the truth, the sooner you can choose to be a free thinking individual. The truth shall set you free.

FYI, Australia is run by an increasingly conservative government with a Prime Minister who thinks Bush is just great. Something I strongly disagree with.

Unified field theory and alchemy? 🤨

This thread is supposed to be about the death penalty.

Ohnoes! The Austraillian goverment likes Bush! That's such a huge step in power! Soon the new world order will be established and all hope will be lost! 🙄

Ive probably posted somewhere in here a couple of years back. 😛

But yes, I think in a lot of cases some people really deserve to die for their crimes. ESPECIALLY pedophiles, as a matter of fact any one that commits crimes against children. To me, thats the lowest of the low. And if not die, then they should have done to them, what they did to their victim. An eye for an eye.

Yeah, the gap between upper and middle to low class seems to be getting ever wider, and the government is so "I've no clue of what you speak" about it. As far as Howard loving Bush gooes, its kind of trasparrent that its all so the US will back us up, in case we get our 18,000,000 citizens in any trouble with Indonesia 😛. I highly doubt that the US will back us up though, not unless theres some kind of natural resource in it for them 😂

I'm from Adelaide BTW. Good to see more Aussies on the boards. 😄.

Howard has essentially made your country a target as a trade-off for trying to get an FTA. I have no idea how he was ever re-elected in the first place.

Is there a death penalty in Australia by the way?

here in the uk i am very mutch for the death penalty coz u get all these murderers and some of them r let loose after a couple of years and they will only do it again so i am for the death penalty 🥷 🥷 🥷 🥷 🥷 🥷 😈 😈

You're right about the Free Trade Agreemeent. And no, I don't think there is a death penalty in Australia. Hopefully that would change; I would see it as a step backwards.

That was your warning.
If you cannot express your disagreement other than editing the posts, then we have a problem.
Discussion over.

What acts will ALWAYS be wrong? Murder?

If thats the case then you just contradicted your own arguemtn - if some acts will always be WRONG and Murder is one of those acts, then Death Penalty is WRONG, as it is a murder.

Murder is a murder, regardless of who commits it, state, psycho, president, priest, Imam, monk, child...

Yes but the difference is that when you are "free" to make your own choices and you actively kill someone for whatever reason you have now lost your freedom to make further choices or like I said before I am ok with differences in opinion but tell me what do you do with these miscreants or society......lock them up forever? Not worth it.....

His words - which scream contradiction.

Ok yeah so he contradicted his words...........how is that any different than someone who is pro choice but against death penalty? Hypocracy has many faces........

So lets not pick apart anyone's discussion..........whats your proposed solution to handle the muck of our society?

Constantly just adding self delusional bits to any conversation......says oh me........

As face-peelingly witty as that off the cuff remark was, it doesn't actually disprove what I just said.
