Ah sorry, thought you were trying to downplay Sticks skill on the basis of chi amped stats. Apologies.

Do you know off hand when Shang Chi said this? Was it during that Heroes for Hire run around the Civil War time frame?

Much older than that. I found it when I was making a Shang-Chi respect thread years ago before I got bored and stopped.

Also found out that Shang-Chi exists in GI Joe continuity and is stated to have trained Quick Kick. 😕

not so. Slight edge taking into account caps high end, but still easily comparable.

Writers involved with every comic meeting between have decided to have them stalemate each time. Maybe because they know a thing or two about BOTH characters.

Venom beat up Superman! Yeah... crossovers are legit!!! 😱

Pull your head out of your ass fanboy.

One fight was fan voted. Everyone involved in each meeting saw the fights going the way they did. Because they know comics.

Wait, are you saying the fan voted outcomes are accurate because the fans know comics?

No. I'm saying every one involved with making the scenes in which they met saw them being virtually evenly matched because they know comics.only one encounter was fan voted.

Crossovers are legit! Superman can barely knockout Professor Hulk without gassing and burning out all his energy! That seems right! dur

The crossovers didn't show them as equal, Marvel vs DC had Cap's punches sending Batman airborne and JLA/Avengers had Batman admit Cap was more skilled.

Bringing up other crossovers is futile and irrelevant. The writer of one of their meetings already went on record stating that himself and the whole creative team agreed with how the fight went. Fanboys tried to cry cohersion on a message board(like that moron srank earlier in this thread) and he shot them down. It was posted here.

lol, and I'm the liar.

Batman said "it's concievable that you COULD beat me". And being sent airbone doesn't equate to losing or being inferior. Especially since all their encounters are stalemates(except bruces technical win of course). Stop misleading fanboy.lol

Heh, that Hulk/Superman fight was probably the best one they've ever had, too.

The writer(Kurt) himself stated that Bruce was admitting Cap was more skilled, I've posted his quote in this thread several times. Stop acting like it's the first you've heard of it.

Shang-Chi's villains have said it, Shang-Chi has confirmed it, and Captain America has proven it.

When did Shang-Chi confirm Steve is more skilled then him? Wouldn't mind see the scan of that if you have it.

If he wrote batmans dialogue and indeed meant to have batman admit to being less skilled, couldn't he have simply had batman say it? Because what you say that the alleged writer of batmans dialogue meant to have him say and what he actually said are two entirely different things. Sounds sketchy.

Either way, the writer of another crossover encounter between the two stated that their fight scene in which they were equally matched was exactly how himself and his creative team envisioned it. EVERY time these two meet up they are displayed as so closely matched. Undoubtedly because people who make comics know comics.

Great, now you're calling the guy who wrote the crossover a liar.

kurtbusiek
You can interpret it how you like, but my intent was that Batman was noting that Cap is the more skilled.

If he wrote batmans lines, he could have LITERALLY had him say that. If that was the intent, why did he have him say something that isn't close to meaning the same?

Also, you ignored this:

Ok wait, let me understand this:

Namor, you say that the people who write comics ultimately know best.

Silent, you're agreeing, and then showing something (allegedly) from Busiek where he says Cap is more skilled.

I'm not quite sure what you two are arguing about, lol. Unless its about the provenance of that Busiek quote....

Isn't there 2 versions of Cap.. One "peak human" and one "super-human"??

Which version are we talking here.

I had the impression that in the crossovers against Batman it was always "Peak human" Cap.

It was a better statement in character, Batman saying he's inferior to someone isn't really very Bruce-like.

Just to play devils advocate, Busiek also thinks Superman doesn't have a magic weakness.

While a better opinion than most, on either side of the argument, a writer isn't god either.

Busiek did say outright he believes Cap is the superior fighter though. If only slightly... Batman would "slowly lose", were his words, which means Batman can not only put up a fight but get lucky and score a KO.

Batman wouldn't even outright admit Val Armorr had his number. 😉

This Busiek showing is something of a double edged sword for Cap supporters though.. If Bats is going to lose after a "very long time", that pegs Cap as below Slade. 😛
