besides that, monks have been around for centuries, and see when you go overboard you mess up, monks are not afraid of being hit nor is it they can't take a hit(far from it evidently)they don't compete out in the open for profit because they feel it's a disgrace to do so, but if they had to(life threating situation)they would. Like when all the monks of ancient china fought for the emperor in a war that involved their fate aswell as all of china's.
They demolished the enemy, in a war, to the death.

I have beein into martial arts since i was a wee youngn, and i dont care what anyone says about monks its all bs, it just is, trusts me....but if you dont...then i guess we will never see eye to eye.I like function not fantasy, i do arts that showcase talents.

Exactly finally someone with martial arts experience talks and i'll tell you like most martial artist will tell you, martial arts is very effective depending on the arts you use against most strong untrained foes, but when it comes to two people well trained it comes down to who's skills are most effective, endurance, strength, and size. Both Cap and Bats are argueably the best h2h combatants in their universes, but Cap will simply outlast Batman in the end, Bats is a Great Human but Cap is a Super Human. BTW alot of martial arts are not intended for actual combat situations and alot of them are not effective in a real fight shit UFC should have shown you this

And Fedor is a Judo and Jui-Jitsu major, Fedor is only dangerous because his ground game is so good and so are his takedowns, if he was just a pure striker he wouldnt be in the top rankings, juss like the rest of the pure strikers.

That said, I'm not an expert on these characters, I'm a mid-80's reader, never really was into DC to tell you the truth, my thing was marvel back then, secret wars and what not, then I picked up Cosmic Odyssey, a few years ago, a four part series where Highfather, Darkseid and others join forces to repell an all-powerful entity called the anti-life equation, I was drawn in and now I'm back.
I post threads so I can learn about the characters while knowledgeable cats like yourself and Dizz fill in the blanks, then interjecting from time to time as I learn.
any comment I've made concerning this fight has been produced through logic because of what guys like you and Dizz write.
I was neutral at first, but Dizz has shown me more reasons to believe in Batman than Cap, and that's why I've taken his side.
You've giving your piece of mind aswell, but hardly in scans or reference to particular issues and mostly in opinions and reasonings as to why America should win.

King Kam what you think about the upcoming Matt Hughes and Royce Gracie fight? I think gracie could pull it out but i am a big mark for Royce i can't even lie but i think Matt has the youth, strength, and MAYBE the endurance advantage but i really would like Matt to lose lol he's gotten away lucky on my count TWICE and i always like to see brazillian jui jitsu practitioners win

Meh, I wouldn't call myself a fighting knowledge expert. Competent, yes, expert, no. Batman, yes. I'd agree that meditative arts probably wouldn't be combat effective though, thinking about it. I stand corrected. Oh, and I have heard extremely good things about Muay Thai. Though a friend of mine DID just send me a clip of a crazy Russian martial art... Likely BS, but absolutely hilarious.

Fighting isn't as black and white as "grappling wins". A pure grappler has an advantage over a pure striker, yes, but being a better grappler does not guarantee a win, as Chuck Liddell DOES show. He is a very competent grappler, though definitely not the best. He is predominantly a striker, but knows how to defend against take downs and such very well. In the long run, a good balance of everything rocks the house. As no one in either UFC nor Pride would get anywhere without being able to do both.

That said... we go back to Batman vs. Cap. Blending lots of styles gives variety. Some techniques are useful, some are not. Basing a mixed style largely on the more useful styles, but incorporating small elements from a wide variety gives more flexibility. Knowing 127 martial arts doesn't necessarily mean that one only uses one at a time, or that one cannot be battle effective, because some of those 127 are better than others. I'd say its just the opposite-more styles should ultimately enable one to be prepared for pretty much any situation or unorthodox style, while experience with fighting would help them to know what techniques are appropriate for any given situation.

Batman has both skills and experience in spades. He's proven time and again to be a very effective fighter, and he has fought martial artists who are enhanced beyond the levels of Captain America before. (coughZEISScough) Cap's nothing he hasn't defeated before, just as Batman isn't anything Cap's never seen. They're dead even. 5/10 each.

I knew that one, about chuck being difficult to take down, I know he can defend himself on the ground but I'm almost sure he's a better striker than wrestler, atleast that's how the announcers make it sound.
My bad, I have seen Fedor fight on the ground and he is relentless, though he was taken there it wasn't his doing, you probably saw the figght, I thought he broke his neck at first when this ripped black guy with died blonde hair suplexed him backwards, it was hard to look at in slow mo, but he survived and won with an arm lock.
Now his brother loves to strike, and I love his nonchalant demeanor he carries himself with, last time I saw him fight was a few weeks ago where he knocked this cock diesal lookin kikka out, like nothing. perhaps you saw it.
