if A-ROD breaks Aarons record,I hope that Pujols passes A-ROD.I would so much hate to see one of George Steinbrenners Yankees be the new record breaker holder.A ROD and the yankees represent everything that is wrong with baseball.Pujols also conducts himself with class when he hits homeruns. He doesnt stand there and admire his work showing up the pitcher like those showoff jerks Bonds and Ken Griffey Jr do.That more than anything is why I was glad when Griffey started getting hurt all the time and started missing games so that he wont catch Aaron.Sorry Forumcrew, but griffey has no class at all the way he stands there and shows off pitchers when he hits his homeruns.Pujols does it with class,he starts joggin down the bases immediately and doesnt stand there admiring his work.
Dude not anymore Pujos hit a home run against the Pirates threw his bat high in the air made a mock face too the pitcher no Pujos nows drives in a white mustang with red letters saying Pujos on it Pujos is turning into a jerk all of a sudden every homerun he does he getting there quick.
Also yes the Yankees do spend alot but Steinbrenner isn't the richest owner in baseball but wil spend every dollar for the Yankees fans. And teams like the Devil Rays who purposely spend less every year too get the Yankees Luxary Tax and Yankees Merchandise sales which 1/4 goes too smaller markets so.And the Yankees aren't just about World Series there about giving a good game for 4 million fans last year. It's too early in A-Rod and Pujos career to know what injuries or scandals wil happen there too young.Aaron wasn't a homerun hitting guy he just stayed in the game longer.he never pasted 47 home runs in his career and there are more better hitters and players that played the game then aaron. And in this steroids era will really never know who taking it or not.I mean even if Pujos hits 80 homeruns it won't be bigger then when Sosa and Mcguire tired too chase it.It will be decades before that feeling will come back.Just Because Pujos and A-Rod look average doesn't mean there not taking it.

Wow I didnt know that about Pujols.Yeah sounds like he has really turned into a jerk all of a sudden as well. There was this one sportswriter posting in a sports magazine recently saying pretty much the same thing you are, that because this is the steroids era,it wont matter if Pujols hits 80 home runs this year, that it wont generate the excitment or be nothing like it was when Mcguire and Sosa broke it because yeah we really dont know who all is taking them now and who is not these days.so yeah if A-Rod or Pujols breaks the season record held by Bonds or the all time record by Aaron,it wont be anything like it was back then or like when Aaron broke Ruths all time home run record. The excitement wont be there at all because the game has been ruined with steriod use. That sportwriter hit the nail right on the head that the home run records in the future wont generate the same kind of excitement from the fans like it did when Cal Ripken broke Lou Gehrigs all time record of playing consecutive games played without missing a start. The future of baseball records for homeruns will never generate that kind of excitement anymore That Ripken generated. Those days are over with.
you cant blame them for doing a little show-boating. I mean its not like this is a kids game where the goal is to have fun. The goal is to win, and thats for 2 reasons. The owners want to make money this is a business for them, also they want fans to come because that makes money, and fans come for entertainment. So if Albert wants to admire the fact that he just creamed a ball id say go for it, its part of the game, can get inside the pitchers head, and makes the fans (ones that support him) enjoy his performance that much more and the fans (that already dont like him) hate him more which can be just as good. As they say no such thing as bas publicity.
By the way,I went to the royals/cardinals game friday night when Pujols hit that home run and I didnt see him showing up the pitcher when he hit that homerun so Pujols is still cool in my book.Thats just one time you mentioned where he was acting like a jerk about it.He might have done that because it might have been a pitcher that drilled him last year or he just has something personal against him.But until I see Pujols do that on a regular routine basis like Bonds or Griffey do,I got nothing against Pujols and still think he is cool in my book.ONE TIME of acting like a showoff doesnt make you a jerk. EVERYTIME like Bonds and griffey do,DOES make you a jerk.I still remember the angels/giants world series and Bonds was the ONLY player on EITHER team who acted like a showoff jerk about it when he hit his homeruns.I saw none of that out of any of the other players from EITHER team.
yeah the fact that it was only a one time thing leads me to believe that it was something like what I mentioned earlier, that maybe that particular pitcher drilled him in the back last year at one time for hitting a homerun off him and he had not seen him till now since then.cause all the clips I see of him on sports center,he doesnt do that, that was just a one time thing.btw, you say you agree with me on something, when did we argue before? because your user name does not look familiar to me? 😕
he probaly read your above post and thought to himself bs bs bs bs, i never seen anybody talk bad about griffey that much before. I think thats messed when you happy someone get injured because you dont like the way they showboat after they hit a homerun, i like griffey and im glad hes back and i truley wish he gets to 700 before he ends his career, whenever he cant play outfield anymore he should go be a DH for an american league team... *looks at the yankees*
so have him go to the team -the yankees that represents everything that is wrong with baseball huh? yeah he would fit right in with that other jerk a-rod and that jerk owner steinbrenner.Jerks like Griffey and Bonds make me sick to watch baseball.Griffeys going to act like a showoff jerk when hitting a homerun, then i got no sympathy for him when he gets hurt. When I played baseball I never acted like those showoff jerks when I hit my homeruns.I had too much respect for the other pitchers to show them up like that. One of my favorite players George Brett even said once when towards the end of his career, when he became like only the 16th player ever to hit a homerun so hard it went over the roof of tiger stadium,he later felt bad about what he did which was stand there at the plate and watch the ball leave the stadium. He felt bad about it because he is a classy guy unlike griffey or bonds in the fact that he never did that, that that was just a one time thing for him.He always did the professional thing and showed class by jogging to first immediately before the ball landed.
i think there at the point of there career with all the injuries and age and all that stuff that they want to keep running to a minimum. bonds gots the bad knee and every other body part and griffey hasnt played a full season years, so if standing there when they know they just hit a homerun is nothing, i mean i can see if they stood there taunted the pitcher and did a pose but just standing there isnt taunting in my book and i dont hear any pitchers complaing abou tthat neither does the media, there not doin anything wrong
See Mr. Parker I just don't see that. That doesn't necessarily mean that's not the case however. I just love Griffey. How can one not? I mean everytime I look at him, I see the little boy who fell in love with baseball. The old fart is STILL crashing into walls on ESPN highlights!...despite all of his past injuries? If you think he's a showoff, that's fine. But the give the kid his due.
I personally don't think that anyone in baseball feels that way about him. I really think they see mostly what I see when I'm watching him....a little kid on a grown man's body still playing baseball; a grown man still playing well in the twilight of his career that everyone knows should have shattered a lot of records for MVPs, Gold Gloves, and HRs; a man that most every baseball player (on your team or the opposition) loves to crack jokes on and/or with.
I suppose a pitcher might occasionally feel what you feel? 😬
