no because in the game SeeD rank flunctuates regardless if Squall is the leader of the garden or not. It's directly tied into how you earn gil in the game.

lol...Are you following me? lol

What? It wasn't you the one who compared SOLDIERs Ranks and SeeD Ranks? How comes you say this now...? What does money has to do with anything? That's their payment, totally aside from his capabilities in battle. Seriously... Have you lost your mind? Or Tac stole your account? 🙁

LOL no I'm only saying that being the leader of Garden doesn't necessarily = being powerful.

And your right that is their payment, but if you slack off in battle while playing the game, your rank falls. I mean technically speaking if your a shitty player your rank could only be like 5 when you fight Ultimecia.

And I did say "hypothetically speaking" I highly doubt Squall would slip in rank especially while headmaster of garden.

And I still think SeeD and SOLDIER are comparable, don't know where your getting that I'm not. I'm still on Squall's side bud lol

You make it sound like I'm Anakin Skywalker slippin to the darkside lol

But why? Cid has chosen his most skilled, strongest and trustful SeeD to be the leader and command the entire Garden and the SeeDs... Seriously... Is that you, Tac? 😕 Leave Indridcold's computer alone, Tac!

If you run away from battles, or if you take an eternity to get GFs like Brothers or Odin your SeeD Rank goes down, yes, I already know that... 😕 But that's almost gameplay.

Dunno, I thought you were betraying me or somehing, lol, seriously, that didn't sound like you... 😕 AT ALL.

I mean... I reinforced your SOLDIER and SeeD comparison and now this? Man, you are scaring me badly here... 😕

Tac? 😕

Umm I agree Squall was the most powerful and kept calm and cool under stressful situations and thats why he was chosen....All I am saying is being the leader of a garden(any garden for that matter) does not equal out to being the strongest in garden lol

Cid wasn't the strongest in the garden yet, he was headmaster yes? lol

Are you asking me who Cid chose to be the leader of garden? Squall of course lol

Yes but just the fact that Cid was a headmaster PROVES that the strongest doesnt necessarily have to lead. In Squall's case he just happened to be the most powerful and was selected. I'm not trying to discredit Squall here. What I am trying to discredit is that the most powerful doesn't have to lead Garden. Cid being headmaster proves that.

But he had to be the Headmaster, he has founded SeeD.

Are you saying Cid has chosen Squall just by coincidence? Because, Squall just "happened" to be the strongest? That's what you're basically saying.

Among other things yes, he kept cool under pressure and knew how to handle himself. Squall was the SeeD of SeeD's pretty much.

But saying that the most powerful is the only one who could be headmaster is kind of absurd. Take this example for instance. Does the most powerful necessarily have to be president of Shinra Corp? If so, then thats like saying President Rufus could have killed Sephiroth 1v1 ya know? lol

That was part of the gameplay aspect of the SeeD rankings.

You were still able to work on obtaining different ranks in SeeD during the game for the challenge of it. Though canonically by disc 2 Squall was given the Commander title as leader of all the entire garden, you wouldn't give that to anything less than an A ermm

He was headmaster due to being a founder of the idea of SeeD. He also did not don the title of Commander that he made for Squall, just headmaster.

Bad example.

Considering Rufus got his spot due to being the heir, I would guess it is lineage in the presidency for Shinra Corp.

Going by this logic then there is no mention of rankings in the entire game other than the financial aspect of the game. The ranks were specifically there for your income and that was it.

Is there really a differnce between headmaster and commander of SeeD? They do the exact same thing. Dispatch SeeD and take command and control of all available SeeD forces. Not much of a differnce.

Ok you got me on words....replace headmaster with commander or vice versa I still stand by my point.

Also your right Rufus was the heir...so lets take Rufus's father the president before him and put him 1v1 vs Sephiroth or for that matter..lets take any organizational or world leader in FF7 and put him against Sephiroth.....same outcome lol

And now wow I really do feel like Anakin Skywalker here lol I'm mainly staying here and playing devils advocate though because Tac doesn't want to come out and play lol

The "Commander" Rank is above Rank A, what does that means? Headmaster is not the same thing. You compared SOLDIER to SeeD, not me, so you should know the answer. Now, Cid has never commanded the Garden around the world, when Squall takes charge of it, is the first time have been done. If Cid has chosen the strongest, then it means you have to be the strongest to command the Garden. Otherwise, Cid could have easily chosen a kid from the junior class, and believe me, a leader like that can be killed in a matter of seconds in such dangerous mission like confronting Galbadia Garden. And... That's not likely, right? So yeah, you're wrong.

I can't believe you are saying this. You either lack knowledge about the game in its totality or you're just playing dumb. The game specifically states that SeeD Ranks are judged by "attack", "judgment", "attitude", "spirit" and "conduct". Their payments is totally ASIDE of their capabilities as a warriors.

ok ok ok Need to stop this here, although I could keep putting up arguements its way to weird arguing with you guys, im really just bored sitting at a desk with nothing else to do lol

Also Griever good call on the "attack", "judgment", "attitude", "spirit" and "conduct". Forgot completly that they got critiqued at the end of the mission. However even the weakest SeeD could just take tests and make it to A in a day lol BUT ANYWAY

Griever let me know if anyone else comes back and wants to argue k? lol

That pretty much was it, test the SeeD in the exam and by accomplishing harder missions (on gameplay by doing fights the hard way) and passing the SeeD tests. It would give them a higher paycheck, If they just rid the rankings completely by disc 2 there really would be no point in working for it except just to say you got it.

Squall was still a SeeD though, I can't remember if Cid stepped down as headmaster completely, but if ordered he would still have to report to Cid considering he was only given a new rank as a member of SeeD. Unless he was given higher power than Cid as well, I don't remember that scene well.

I noticed it right after I pressed reply lol

No, they also serve the same purpose as the SeeD do.

SOLDIER and all the shinra troops would follow the president's order just cause he was leader of the organization. It isn't a power related thing at all, it came down to he had the idea, he started the organization, and he signed the checks. If the guy wasn't so money hungry he could've called up Sephiroth if he wanted to and gave him the same sort of power in the organization for being the top SOLDIER & if he had seem cut out to handle the job.

Yes Cid did step completely down as headmaster to live with Edea.

now then

GrieverSquall, Spadeking, IndridCold /thread

no more argueing lol

Also, Cid was Edea's knight, so... I highly believe he was also a strong fighter... 😖mart:

But yeah, /thread.

This isn't over, I'm going to link this thread to FF7 forums!
