Cloud vs Squall

Okay. The three of you. Enough. Don't take the bitter shit from previous threads and spread it to others. It wastes space, and nothing more. If you've got something to say about the topic, then say it, and leave all your gorram baggage at the ruttin' door.

Cloud vs. Squall

They're both well practiced swordsmen with a ton of abilities at their disposal, and have faced impossible odds. It'll be an epic battle, and I say Squall wins by a thread. Fanboy? Maybe. Prove me wrong and I'll concede.

@voyeur
Irony, you say that yet you've only played 2 old FF games from the late 80's. I've played quite a few pokemon games, and the battle system doesn't even have much depth, compared to FF7's materia system, or even FF8's junction system.

You know, you're utterly wrong. Gays or fan girls? Where the hell did you even get that from? Probably one of the most ridiculous things i've heard.

@Screampaste

Zelda games didn't sell more. That's why Zelda is the 12th best selling franchise, while FF is 4th. The site shows the "sales". Both series released about 18 games, FF sold about 30 million more.

Umm no its not, Cloud is known for his immense strength. You're talking about him like he's a regular human being, he's an ex-SOLDIER, meaning he was infused with jenova cells. We don't know his weight, but in terms of strength, Squall hasn't shown anything even remotely close to Clouds. Just Clouds leg muscles he jumps around almost flying like he's the Hulk.

Pokemon by the way is the most competitive turn based game in the entire world. IVs, EVs, Tiers and shit. It puts a stomp and really puts some skill and brain thought into practice when it comes to turns. SO yeah...kek at you saying it sucked if you never played competitively.

And you know, once again. You're a ****ing dip shit. OKay, thank you. peace <3

You know the most majority of people who like FF are fan girls and gays. Honest. And nothing is wrong with that. It's just, statistics speak for themselves. So which one are you?

I agree with Terryc here. Either it is ridiculous (and stupid) or it is fact. Which is it? I really would like to know where you got the statistics for that. PM me if they actually exist, please.

Also, warned for bashing, Voyeur. We do not tolerate that kind of attitude towards other posters here.

Yes, and your next infraction is going to be a temp ban. So knock it off.

okay back to the argument, lets compare the main enemies that the characters fought, and for kicks I'll put tidus in the conversation, cloud fights a swordsman with an extremely long katana who controls a meteor, squall fights a sorceress with control over time and space, and tidus fought his dad as the ultimate summon and a gigantic, nearly unkillable monster. In that aspect who do you guys think would win

Well, considering the fact that Tidus is not even a part of this match, including him does nothing to affect the outcome.

That being said, a swordsman with limited paramagical abilities versus a fully developed sorceress is quite a challenge, which I think puts Squall in better standing.

I'm gonig to say Squall, maybe it's his feats, maybe it's the gun in the blade, maybe it's the fact he was voice by David Boreanaz in Kingdom Hearts, who can say. But that's where my vote lies. =)

Cloud has the superior feats.

But Squall and friends took down an astronomically superior foe compared to Sephiroth.

Then again, the in-universe explanation was Love and Friendship. Lol.

Hey now, you should not underestimate The Power of Love and Friendship

😛

**** off.

the problem is we cant say for sure if squall can match cloud...all we have to go by is the dissidia intro where squall got beaten down by sephy..😬

however, cloud's feats from VII and AC exceed squall's...love and friendship doesnt not really count as a feat 😛

Excuse me, what? Sephiroth did not "beat down" Squall in the Dissidia intro. They were clashing evenly, and the final image was Seph firing off a blade beam which Squall avoided. I would not call that a beat down at all.

Yeah, I watched the intro, Squall held his own, more than Cloud can say. 😬

no, squall got knocked aside by the blade beam..it broke his guard..at least gen took it without faltering 😬

I just rewatched that sequence, and you are partly right. Squall does get knocked back, but it appears more to be out of the angle of the attack then because of its force, meaning it was a glancing blow. In any case, a broken guard does not a beat down make. They were clashing evenly the entire time, even with the mutual knockback. Sephiroth simply recovered in a more timely fashion, allowing him to use the blade beam. Gen did not take the hit, either, Jecht did. Gen jumped out of the way before it struck.

The Dissidia universe can't really be used to settle debates on the characters as they appear in their original universe. The world of Dissidia has these characters working for gods that can either add to or limit their powers, with things such as Cecil being able to magically go between Dark Knight and Paladin or Terra still having her magic or Kuja being put on equal terms with Jecht and Garland. Yes, they are the characters, nut their powersets are altered by the gods and the rules of the universe, so unless this is Dissidia Cloud vs Dissidia Squall you shouldn't use examples from that game.

I agree, though my inner fanboy simply will not allow me to let someone to speak ill of Squall without mounting some form of defence. 😛

Why do people keep bringing up AC?...

FF8 does not have a movie, so why compare?...

Based off gameplay (FF7 and FF8) repectively, Squall > Cloud simply because his attacks deal more damage...

Lionheart > Omnislash in terms of damage. Fact.

Renzokuken + Lionheart >> Omnislash in terms of damage. Fact.

Cloud has better showings in the more reliable cutscenes and movies compared to gameplay mechanics.

FACT.
