I see nothing wrong about representing lightning bolts as they did in Advent Children. I mean, they have stated it's lightning, therefore, it's lightning. That's it.
We could have a point if there were no statement saying it's lightning. But unfortunately, it has been stated to be lightning. So we should accept it.

Nope. Lightning in FFVII looks like, well, lightning bolts.Just the image doesn't look like anything I recall from FFVII but that script claims its lightning. If it is official, then someone has screwed up at one point. Or more than likely, the scripted changed.
Or it's magic lightning. awesome
Or it's Matra Magic since you would have to be an idiot to not notice the obvious similarities between the two attacks.
It does not behave or even look like lightning at all.
Oh and by the way: Cloud and friends have been hit by bullets. Though they CAN bullet-time, bullets can still pose a threat to them, aka, contradicting nonsense that disputes alleged lighting-timing.

Just because something look ''similar'' doesn't mean it's the same. Matra Magic are missiles in Final Fantasy VII. And: Statement > Wikipedia.
It possess sparks, it has the typical color of lightning and guess what, it has been STATED to be lightning. Let's be fair here.
They can bullet-time? When has Tifa or for instance Cid evaded a bullet? And what do you mean by it is contradictory?
Kratos easily at this point.
Stronger, more durable, and faster.
The first two won't be debated so to expound on the last point, Kratos is a confirmed lightning timer (by two devs), fast enough for mundane things like falling objects to look like its frozen relative to his perceptions, and also fast enough to move through a time stop.
I believe I saw the calc, iirc it was based on some terrible logic+power scaling coming from Zack's in-game fight in crisis core fight with one of the bahamuts, and the fact that in game the player can block some attack that I believe was above quadruple digit machs in a cutscene.
This is not to get into the issue that this is the same Zack that end game, got killed by bullets, plenty of soldiers there, but still bullets, or that Cloud couldn't react to a bullet from 1 foot away from his face.
Even still, its not better than moving through a time stop.
