November Elections

I don't think "don't get your hopes up" is snippy and sarcastic; I certainly wasn't trying to pick a fight.

just in from cnn. automatic recount in virginia. Senate races republicans have to win 2 seats more to keep their majority. Democrats have to win three.

you edited? 😬

whatever i dont care. have your edit.

anyway why the hell is this final 1% dragging in virginia?

suddenly i wish that turncoat lieberman had won the primary

Because of the large turnout in northern virginia. just like in the governor's race in 2005 whereby democrat Tim Kaine won, the deciding factor is northern virginia

I edited before you replied, as a matter of fact; perhaps you were composing it at the time.

Damn, VA is making for a tense race.

What really is amazing about this election is that the once democratic State of California re-elected Arnold for a second and final term as governator. I'd guess most Californians had enough of the bullshit Gray Davis pull for years in this state.

Interesting election.

The closest parallel is apparently a recent recount which took a month and changed the tally by only 27 votes. Someone should just concede defeat.

The woman who lost both her legs is behind in the tally.

58.76% James Webb (D)
Allen 40.17% R

this is the result for northern virginia/

the remaing precincts in virgina are dominated by votes for webb

i think they got it

Casey, Jr. 59%
Santorum 41%

I love absentee ballots; I'd hate to have been denied the chance to vote against Rick Santorum just because I'm currently out of state.

Honestly, I'm starting to pitty people who live in other states, because I was afforded the chance to help vote Santorum out of office, and they were not.

im so happy that prick is gone 😄

Why? From what I've read about her she seems like a decent Representative.

She voted for the Patriot Act

She is a huge supporter of the 1st Amendment (which is great), but completely shits on the 2nd...

She wants illegal immigrants to have access to welfare... Not to sound like a cold hearted bastard, but America needs to take care of it's citizens and legal immigrants first.

She wants to raise minimum wage, sounds great on paper, but would be a terrible move.

She is for embryonic and adult stem cell research... I'm cool with the adult, not with the embryonic.

Like I said, I don't hate her, just not a huge fan.

I sure hope so. Even if there is a recount. Well I have to live with him (Allen) if that insufferable idiot wins. I did my part in nova to make sure webb got elected.

not looking good for the las vegas weed vote cry

Embryonic stem cells have more application than adult stem cells, the former being entirely pluripotent. The embryos used in research are usually scheduled for disposal anyway.

Key word, "usually".

hmm it seems that sources are indeed conflicting regarding the virginia race 😖
