They're not at all comparable. Did Saddam try to enforce Islamic law in Iraq? No, not reallt. Is Cheney doing that in the US? No, not really.

Just because you are part of a community doesn't mean that you feel everone has to feel that way or that community should be in control of society.

OMG, you totally don't get my point 🙄

I am not comparing them as people. Ofcourse Saddam has done worse than Dick Cheney (according to our knowledge). My point was that Saddam Hussien used Islam as a means for his power and to push his own personal agenda...same with Dick Cheney. Dick Cheney and the entire Bush Administration has sided with the Evangelical Elite, and basically used the votes, and religious force as a means to thier own gains....

Not to be snyde, but I was thinking the same thing about you.

No different mood. I was being funny in a way that is consistent with me. You are attacking everyone, more then normal. 😉

People can't seem to grasp definitions today. I attack people I think are wrong.

Finals are over. I'm going back to Chicago. I'm quite happy today.

I've never heard you say "conversation over" before.

He has been surprisingly agreeable with me the last few day though. I have come to the realization that discussions with Alliance go up and down, usually being confrontational (on both sides) and then mellowing out where we accept our disagreeances only to start over again when the occasional users resurrect threads.

I dont know really, often you come across as being argumentative. Let me give an example. I once pasted an article about Transhumanism and I said I intended to "evolve". You told me that I cant evolve and im using the term incorrectly. Whats really annoying is you probably knew what I was talking about the person who wrote the article was a scientist and if you look at the dictionery the word evolve is used in a different context. Basically it didnt fit your defintion of what "evolve" meant so you just went and complicated matters.

Our previous discussion about Politics and religon. I dont know why the conversation lasted so long. You knew I was refering to secular politics and we had to get into a discussion about what is the correct defintion of what Communist is. The Americans call them Communist, they call themselves Communist, can we accept that the word Communist is different for some people......noooooooo.

When you were debating with Regret and others about proof of god you were quite rude and arrogant and again basically just believed that you had the correct defintion for everything.

My discussion about the Romans and Barbarians. You basicaly ignored the link I gave you insulted the author and fobbed me off.

I was casually talking to somebody the other day and the said person said that they stopped coming to the religous forum becuase of you. To an extent one should not worry to much about what people think, but when random strangers say that they stopped coming to this forum because your too much of a pain, I think you need to think about it.

Quite frankly sometimes you just come across as arrogant and argumentative, when the arguments you use are subjective.

The Quran states to kill infidels, period. Not just if they attack you. I already proved you wrong....stop being stupid.

Now lets see.

*digs out a bible*

It says here this jesus fellow dies for our sins.

BUT

the only reason this happens is because he is betrayed by a man possessed by the devil

so it would seem
no satan = no eternal slavation

It also says that god wants us to be good people

But without a standard of evil being good is semanticly impossible. There's also this story where god lets Satan mess with this Job guy to test him.

so
no satan = no ability to test goodness and purity = no goodness or purity

*closes bible*

Alright . . . GO SATAN

I'm pretty sure that's the worst interpretation of the story of Christ I've ever witnessed.

evil... can't live with it. can't live without it. hypocrite

This guy you do not want to mess with. He is the cosmic powered being he was here before evolution took place. Even the Arc Angel respect him.

u know lord u ar being stupid the quran says to people like u surah 2:18, Deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path).

really?
how so? 😕
name one lie in my statement.

My point is that evil is a nessecary force in the universe. Satan is not more powerful than God obviously but without an evil counterpart God is pointless as a moral compass.

If I only accept God a symbol of what can be good I cannot make a comparsin or judge his true goodness. And if he never tests my faith he can never be sure of my faith or goodness either 🙂

Wait a second.
Muslimscholar did you just inslut me?

Face it....Satan is a necessary component to your mythology

I hate to say this but thanks Urizen.

I'm not convinced that he is. Creation started without his influence and was good and in the end Satan will be imprisoned forever, so we will live without him. Therefore, he is not a necessity.

Revelations is not literal so you shouldn't really count it

but still it says he gets how many thousands of years to test humanity

would creation be better without satan?
yeah sure

will that ever happen?
no, probably not

if God hasn't killed Satan yet either he can't or won't
if he can't then Satan is necessary
if he won't then Satan is something that God wants to have exist and is therefore necessary

Satan is not necessary to Humanity or its survival/salvation, ofcourse not...he's the opposite of necessary

But to the mythology of Christianity, he is absolutely necessary. Without Satan, there is no "sin", no "Hell", no punishment, no struggle, no need for Christ, and ultamately nothing for God to do....
