Its a new world by the time AWE ends IMO..so a the story is gonna be familiar but also new..methinks

As for becoming a pirate and becoming free of social constraints, no they aren't really the same thing. 😄 I shall attempt to explain this later, when I am not at work. 😄
Liz childhood dream was to meet a pirate. She's a pirate by heart. SO she must persue her dream to be with a pirate, but not just a pirate, a famous one.
It amaze me that she read all his stories, that she knows more about him than anyone else does. Everybody just know about his crimes, but Liz just has all the depth information about him.
IMO I think Becket's comment about Jack and piracy can be applied to Lizzie too.
I don't know how, but somehow Will is going to be removed from Lizzie's life before the end of AWE, but I have a feeling that Jack is going to stand back and let her find her own way. He was in awe of her and her actions at the end of DMC and she really was a pretty bad pirate. But, Jack has not forced himself on her yet, except to rescue her from drowning. Even on the island he backed off when she acted offended by his arm around her, but if you watch real close, he still has his hand in her hair before he passes out and she's not saying anything about that. Even at the end of DMC he never puts a hand on her, he just let's her come to him and kiss him and she backs him up to the mast.
I guess I could write all day about the contradictions of Lizzie. She is almost like a schizophrenic. She drives me crazy with "...the most fearsome pirate...." then "I don't believe you know me well ......".

She's betrayed all the men in her life and ultimately has betrayed herself. "The deepest circle of H--- is reserved for betrayers and mutioneers".
I'm almost to the point that Jack is just too good for her and I don't want to see him hurt anymore. Boo hoo.
She will either have to go to England and live with a relative, be on a ship of her own, or with Jack. She doesn't have any other place to go back to.

But will he view Elizabeth's actions (no matter what the DMC childrens novels said) as a betrayal?

Sorry, I think Jack's kisses are as precious as hers are in her morality speech in the island. Oh, and the wench is "not sorry". I hope he ignores her in AWE and makes her admit how she feels about him before he lets her off the hook.
This is all getting too confusing and complicated. If he kills Barbossa for leaving him stranded on the beach years before, why won't he have the same thoughts for Lizzie for chaining him to the mast, even if he got loose before the Kraken ate him. I know it all boils down to "What a man can do, and what a man can't do."
One thing I have noticed is that for all the leaked scripts for DMC and the deleted scenes, the dialogue was changed to a different actor.
On the beach Jack is the first one to say the line about a "weather eye", but by the final cut, Lizzie said it. So, what if in the leaked script the lines are like this:
Will's lines are really Jack's
Jack's lines are really Lizzie's
Lizzie's lines are really Will's
Now, sort that out....hahahahahah
I'm not trying to hurt anybodies feelings and all this was meant in a light hearted way.
Jack contradicts himself quite a bit..he says in the peas in a pod scene that he likes it when a person does what evers needed..he also says he respects the code..expects them to keeo to the code in situations where its every man for himself...its whats got him attracted to Liz in the first place
but I think he hates that side of himself where he lets people see his "weakness" they always screw him over..he loathes that side of himself
but are the audience going to really want him to lose that side of himself forever?
I tend to agree that Elizabeth will not be going back to the 'civilized' life-style, although I could see her settling down in a place where no one knows her.
Will also will not be able to return to a civilized life. The only way I could see them ever returning to society is if someone gives them a pardon.
I have a hard time seeing Jack being in a relationship. Yes, I know his character is developing, but the idea of binding Jack in love (and yes, it is binding, in some ways) seems to be almost like clipping his wings. Jack is a free spirit, whereas I don't think Elizabeth truly is...piratey as she may be, I don't think it's her true nature.
Ted Elliott said that the Shadow aspect of Elizabeth plays a big role in DMC, but he did not say that it was what defined Elizabeth. 😄

in many ways, it is actually more freeing than being alone. because you have some one supporting you, fighting for you. you dont have to worry about finding someone, you arent held down by doubts or constant distractions with trying to get your needs met.
finding someone who truly was right for you-- someone you could love, fight with, play pretend with, work through issues with, have adventures with, share intimacy and trust with...
i would think that would be freeing...

Love is binding...but in a good way. It's not restrictive, but it does have its limits.
This is a difficult concept to explain, and I'm a poor author for such a powerful emotion, but I'll do my best to explain what I feel in my gut love is.
Love is deeper than being intrigued by someone, or sharing a hot kiss. It is a feeling so powerful that you would do anything--ANYTHING at all for that other person. That is binding, because it means that you are no longer the number one priority, but the OTHER person is.
Marriage is a good example of how love can be binding, because in a religious context it is the joining of two souls into one being. The death of 'self', if you will.
Hmmm...I think I'm going to have to paraphrase from a person at KTTC, because otherwise it will sound as if I stole her idea. Basically, love gives freedom, but not the total freedom Jack told Elizabeth about in DMC.
That freedom is taking what you want, when you want and how you want. Being a pirate. Being selfish. Doing whatever you want, no matter who you hurt in the end.
Love does not allow for that type of freedom.
And as I have pointed out (as well as numerous other people have), Elizabeth tasted that freedom...and she didn't like it.

What is love? well somewhat of what you said but sort of the opposite...i might being confusing when i explain it...
Love doenst have limits...if you are willing to "Be selfish. Doing whatever you want, no matter who you hurt in the end." so you are completeley contradicting yourself when you say love has limits.
Love is somehting so strong that it doenst matter who the person you love is...you dont even have to have areason for loving them, that feeling is just their. and to know if that feeiling id there or not you must find that ttraction and have that hot kiss between that one person you lust after...just because you have all that doenst mean you cnat end up loving them in the end...thats how love starts...
And Liz tasted that freedpom and DID like it by the way...thats the feedom she wnated so badly and she got EXACTLY what she thought it would be and LOVED it
