First, I'd be inclined to believe energy had a bit to do with it, since it appears gamma radiating off of him and down through the cracks being created has a bit to do with it, other than sheer strength of contracting muscles.

Also, theres no way to relate this particular performance back in a comparison to Thanos. So it doesn't fall into the category of what was asked for.

All that matters about strength is that one is strong enough to hurt the other. Being stronger proves nothing since other factors play a part (like speed).

The list of combat advantages Superman has over Thanos involves pretty much every technical advantage that one could hope to have over an opponent.
Thanos may have more -options-, many of them are rarely displayed[meaning 8 or 9/10 times it will in fact come down to trading blows with Superman], and most of them will be nigh useless against this particular opponent anyways, as Superman has showings against those particular powers.
And once it becomes a slugfest, it'll still be a bit of a fight given the durability of these two, but it slants terribly into Superman's favor.
Superman has fought people in Thanos tier and it didn't turn out so well for him. Superman is powerful but he is Herald powerful. Wonder Woman has given him a fight, he admitted on at least 2 occassions that Captain Marvel is above him in a brawl... hell, Eclipso had Supes powers and was going all out with it and still failed to put Cap down. Superman went all out on a holding back Black Adam and ADMITTED that he didn't need to hold back and still didn't drop him and Adam was at 100% after the fight. This happened against Orion as well, they were pretty much even, hell, when Orion got serious with Supes, he one shotted him with the astro force... hell, Orion had to save a knocked out Supes from Kalibak and Mantis. Wonder Woman has also held her own against a going all out Supes and in some fights, she has done better in a show down against the same opponent Supes faced (amazo, Konvikt).
What Juntai is doing is nitpicking. Out of the entire crew of justice league members, Wonder Woman has the best showings against Sky Fathers, hells, its consistent that she tends t beat on them BUT she would still get her sh** pushed in by Thanos and easily at that because we know what Tier she is in just like we know that we would give Supes a majority against her in a fight, no matter how many skyfathers she has taken down because again, we know what tier she is in.
Will Supes give Thanos a fight? Probably, but Thanos IS on a different level and comics proves this. Its debatable if Supes could pull a majority against Surfer, Captain Marvel, Black Adam, and Thor, how is he going to pull one against someone FAR superior?
