I frustrated and countered the poor guy (wasn't difficult at all)so he went to pick on Leo... 😆

I've scanned and contributed sizable chunks of evidence on Superman and left it on the Superman forum. Just about any case could be made with it.

I also scanned the battle with a non-enhanced Morg who gave Thanos trouble, and Wolvie penetrating his hide (canon, of course 😉 )

I too just wanted to relax and enjoy the festivities.

Hello, CC, and Whirly!

Here's a fun one, I call it the infinite toss. Even though its Borg, Supes could pull it off as well. Certain characters who aren't light speed and can't fly sure wouldn't want to be caught in this...

Excelsior! 😉

^ I did a little reading on the invincibility of Superman, and you have a bit of a flaw in your logic there. Superman can be wounded. Adamantium that is sharpened can pierce anything. So, if Superman were to be stabbed by Woverine's claws, he and Thanos would be on the same level when it comes to skin thickness. Superman is not TRULY invincible, in the traditional definition. His skin can be pierced, and can die from physical beating, ala Gog and Doomsday. Also, Golem provided us with a scan that shows an amazing feat on the part of Thanos, that by no way, shape, or form could a sun-dipped Superman pull off. Remember: Galactus could make Superman his b'otch in a nanosecond. Also, in the void of space, where this is no gravity, if Thanos was also given the course of where Doomsday would not hit anything, he could pull off the same feat. You make a good argument, but there's still not solid proof that Superman is more powerful than Thanos.

Just a little something to consider. He effortlessly shrugs off adamantium cutting lasers.

And a non jobbing Galactus would make either Thanos or Supes his b'otch, I'm sure we agree on that at least?

Wolverine's claws can cut Lobo, how does his durability compare to Supes? 😖hifty:

Yeah, I can agree on that. I never saw that issue before. I had only heard about it. Hmmmm. Interesting stuff, Avalon.

No prob. As for what Golem posted, here is the result:

He knocked down the Big G, but didn't really do anything but piss the big guy off. Even with tech, things don't bode so well for him...

He did get his helmet off though, which is something that isnt' easy. If the big G takes to long with it off, he becomes a star. Eep. The beauty of this thread is that it's extremely hard to tell who would win.

This is hardly a "planet destroying blast" of any kind...
Thanos needs 3 forcefields and his body armor to survive...
He even admits that his strength is prep and that he can die...

THIS is the Thanos that I like, NOT the invincible character that some want him to be, but a ruthless, intelligent bastard who overcomes obstacles with near flawless planning.

Which is ALSO why Doom is one of my favorite villains.
This is how he defeats the powerful Omega, by having the planet that they were fighting on destroyed...

and why Iron Man is one of my favorite heroes. Planning can beat brute force any day. I guarantee if Supes teamed up with Iron Man, all of Superman's problems would go away if Iron Man could get a readout of the biophysical structure of Supes' enemies. Thanos is a smart motherf*cker, which makes him extremely dangerous.

Then you'd love Cyborg Supes. When written well, the guy is a BEAST and can do exactly what you've described.

I can understand his strategy. Sometimes when I'm having a bad gig, I'll pick on Leo, too. It always makes me feel better. 😄

As far as I've always understood it, Superman doesn't have any increased durabilty as far as his skin goes. Meaning that his skin should be cuttable like a normal human (even though he is an alien). What he does have is some kind of bio-electric arua around his body that provides his source of invulnerabiltiy so you can't really get to his skin. If you wear down his energy reserves (ala Doomsday) he can be cut and/or injured.

Its kind of a moot point as both have shown un-godly durabilty feats so I don't think that that would be the determining factor in the fight.

I agree with your conclusion, but Avalon posted a scan of Superman, while having Kryptonite stuck in his body and dying of Kryptonite poisoning, was still invulnerable and couldn't be pierced to have blood drawn.

Correct! There is another I posted where Supes was laying in kryptonite sand and survived a nuke unscathed. Yet he still had the power to catch every particle of the fallout, and toss it into the sun.

You're getting eerily good. I'm about to be out of a job! 😆

when i'm tired of playing in the puddles, i occasionally take a dip in the ocean to play with the big boys . . . and on the rare occasion actually have something to say that someone else hasn't already said! 😄

oh, and looks like the majority think it IS pretty close between thanos and supes . . . 😖hifty:

or does anyone else REALLY think thanos is 100 - 1000x stronger than superman and thor . . .?

incidentally, the only 'feat' slade really had was thanos's battle with wm thor who was 10x regular strength AND had the gem, yet thanos still seemed to be pretty even with him h2h. so, anyone want to try and explain this (assume for the moment thor and supes are relative equals in strength)? wouldn't that mean thanos is at least 10x + stronger than normal thor?

i responded already to this, but let's hear how some of the 'experts' would counter this claim . . . 😖hifty:

oh, and demi, when the experts have had their shot, you can try too if you want. 😉
