Umm . . . thats not much of a reason really

I have no problem w/ Christians or Jesus but there isn't much to say that Christianity has any more chance of being right

Lol. Yes I know. I must admit that I made a bit of slip. But based on my prior response, the meaning of what was posted was rather obvious. Are you truly of the belief that most pedophiles, haven't commited the crime of "molestation" and/or engaged in watching child pornography? I'd really like to know your opinion on this.

I don't know. All I was doing was clarifying your use of terms. It was not an attack, just a correction.

Why Jesus? I think the answer would be the bible. And why the bible, the answer would be mommy and daddy.

I have read the Bible numerous times, but I am not inspired.

I read in one of your posts that you are homosexual. Do you resent Christianity because it suggests that homosexuality is immoral and you dont want to change, or have you just decided that you'd rather walk your own path to heaven?

<serious question>

Not much of a reason? To tell you the truth, what he says in the bible really contradicts to the sinful things we do in our lives, especially the things we love doing. That is why most people dont want to be Christians, because you really have to take up your cross and follow Jesus. The path to Heaven is narrow for sure, so that means not all of us will get there.

We can argue about our differences all day, but what it all comes down to is the truth. Truth is the outcome of precision, which is the result of absolute order.

Many people, especially atheists, fail to realise that the Way, the Truth and the Life are all that matters. They also fail to realise that life on earth is a tiny fraction of eternity, which is where the judgement and power of God will be witnessed by all.

You must choose which path you want to go. If you choose to stick with atheism, you need to be absolutely sure that you are making the absolutely correct decision, but I assure you, you will not like where that bad religion is taking you.

It seems that Satan and his armies aren't the tight @ssed, prudish, judgmental, overbearing people that you seem to think will be in heaven (you heaven sounds like a hell to me)

my religion is no worse than yours

HARUHI WILL SMITE YOU FOR DENYING HER POWER

<serious question>

1) I am bisexual, not homosexual...there is a difference u know 🙄

2) I wrote a huge list of reasons in another thread as to why I am no longer Christian.

My sexuality actually has very little to do with it. I realized I was bisexual loo0o0ong ago, and I was still Christian. I stopped following Christianity at age 18.....I identified as a bisexual at age 14

So honestly, my sexuality isn't the prime reason for my abandonment of Christianity. It is the hypocristy of the Christian organizations, the violent history of Christianity, the contradictions in the Bible, the condoning of violence in the Bible, the inspiration of closed mindedness and hate the Bible can easily promote, and hundreds of other little factors that caused me to surrender that Faith.

I have a new Faith now...and no, Orgasmism is just a joke I like to play in response to scriptural arguments...however, in my Faith, we are all equal and we are all fragments of God and fragments of each other.

No one deserves eternal torment in my Faith, even the cruelest of people.

Forgivness and Compassion and Love are the 3 main pillars of my personal Faith, open mindedness and exploration are the 2 drivers of progression in my Faith, and the alleviation of judgement, hate, and discrimination are the 3 keys to social peace in my faith.

Good, because the Bible doesn't teach that.

The bible doesn't teach a lot of things. That's a cop out, man. The bible doesn't have to teach a lot of things for it's followers to subscribe though, does it?

No it doesn't. However, sometimes it's good to let people know that they were deceived concerning these things.

Yes, but then you are assuming that you are not deceived. Just thought I'd let you know about the deception you are under. 😎

The Bible clearly states that certain people will burn in Hell for all eternity...where is your argument coming from ?

The original word translated as eternity does not mean forever. It does indicate a lengthy period of time however. But, the Bible teaches that at the end of this and after the final Judgement the unsaved will be utterly annihilated.

Eze 28:19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
'Be' is better translated as 'become'.
'Never shalt thou be any more' is better translated 'you shall not be for ever.'

Psa 37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

I am an atheist and I've been one my whole life. Personally, the argument used by many religious people that you have to believe in god without proof that god exists (to show morality) is a weak one.

Here is a site with really good arguements in favor of athiesm: http://godisimaginary.com/

I know that many religious people here on this thread won't bother with it, but keep in mind that I went all the way through this thread and read all of your arguements just to be fair.

I find that site to be an offensive pile of ad homiem attacks on christians.

I am my self an ignostic (I don't think god matters) but really if a bunch of athiests make a site like then they aren't any better than hyper-evangelicals who try to do the same thing to people whos opinions differ from theirs

I especially like the 10 questions every christian must answer what jerk wrote that?

You may think it's offensive, but it has solid reasoning and well put points that count for something. I agree, it's a little strong, but it is hard to argue with it's logic.

they ignore the entire concept of faith and replace it with delusion

they ignore the very concept of symbolism

they imply that anyone with faith is either insane or stupid

they forget that the bible has been translated and that there is no universal agreement on how a passage should be written

they ignore that there are many interperetations of Biblical writtings

they intentionaly confuse the issues in order to make theists look irrational

they are unbelievable condecending

and that is all froma person whos agrees with the basic concept that they are trying to get across

do you really want to see what happens when the believers start picking apart the site's information?

Weak. They have no grasp of the Bible as a whole, supporting and completing verses, nothing. Not to mention little twists and lack of knowledge of real Biblical theology. I'm not going to even bother since this site really has nothing new to add. *Yawns* Its been done before and better. Oh, and if you think they use logic, you should look the word up. They don't use it.

Yes.
