Long pig didn't actually, I had people wanting to ban themselves (logan87), and other people wanting to drive across the country (whose name shall be kept secret) and the most hatesock accounts than any other member, I've been in more consistent flamewars than anyone else on this forum... even the mods have told me that. It's not what you say, but what hurts the most, trust me I'm good at it when I want to be, I'm not even trying now and I have two people at my throat.
Nevertheless this is horribly stupid and off topic, and another example of what I'm talking about.

Probably because they are the only way to actually have a number of people having access to the same information.
Using issues and such for sourcing is difficult to validate for everyone. Unlike and encyclopedia which "everyone" has access to issues can be in a limited sense exclusive to certain members.

Course not, but there is a difference between Venom outfighting and then killing Spider-Man as opposed to him having to wait until Spider-Man is vulnerable, or when Spider-Man mistakes him for the Spot or something.

Wolverine did have opportunities to kill him, but when he goes for the kill or is serious he doesn't even come close. Read what I say instead of skimming next time. With Venom its a bit different as we have seen Venom outfight Spider-Man in a straight up brawl and then leave Spider-Man. When Logan decisively beats Spider-Man and walks away from his mangled body without dealing the death blow then you can talk about how Logan can kill Spider-Man.

With claws out the blow wouldn't have landed. Spider-sense warns him of danger and threat level. A backhand which will only end up giving you a headache is going to be pretty low on the list of things to dodge, especially considering when you have foot long adamantium claws which can do more can give you a migrane
