As requested - The argument about crap music...and a (fair) poll

Started by EPIIIBITES23 pages

AC...the cumpulsive lier just made up what my argument is to further character assasin me.

Incredible

YOU think in terms of dumb and idiotic if people don't get something...I DON'T.

And I invite Ytse to read my agument at the beginning of this thread to see that I nowhere imply someone is idiotic for not understanding how there is objectively good music.

There is NO objectively good or bad music, that is why this is happening. You fail to accept you are wrong, and that is why you are still here. You do not have a debate, you are not credible.

You are the one who said that in the first place you fool; That there's an objective standard of good and bad, but it can't be proven, but it exists, and if we can't see that Lily Allen is good, there's something wrong.

I can go get the quote if you want.

You are the one trying to bury it under pages of cut and paste so that people are confused and ask you for more, rather than, in one post, saying your point and letting everyone whoop you, which always happens.

See how he just changed it? Like he always does?

Character Assasins people by making them look like they're calling others dumb for not agreeing with their views, and then changes the wording.

Great guy to have around...really.

I'll go grab that quote, so we can see I'm not assassinating anything.

You post your argument, we destroy it. You "clearly" explain it again, for 9 pages, we destroy it. Then you say we don't get it, so you post it again, then you decide we are agreeing, and secretly agree, but won't admit it.

What's wrong with you?

Yes, I read it. But I couldn't decipher that mess. Condense your main point to something reasonable.

Ok...do you or do you not think this is a ridiculous sentence?

-“You’re an IDIOT for liking that wine”

YES or NO?

Honestly, I could care less about any bickering going on in this thread. I just want you to get to the point. Mostly what you've done is ask me a bunch of questions and refuse to answer mine. And we're nowhere closer to understanding what you're getting at.

EDIT: double post

YES or NO?

Yes, cause it's rude.

That's why?

'Cause it's rude?

Apart from it being rude...what exactly makes someone an "idiot" for not liking the wine you're saying is crap

Let's look at a few EPIIIBITES gems:

Music is subjective. Good music isn't.

Dude, if you actually think Lilly Allen belongs in the "crap" category as opposed to the "good" category, and can't seperate your own personal taste from just qualifying her as an artist, then a). I'm afraid most critics in contemporary pop would laugh at you, and b). your musical intelligence isn't quite where I thought it might be.

You're making the mistake of using your own personal taste as a measure of what's good, and because you don't like her, you're saying her music's not good. Wow! Good for you! Have fun doing that for the rest of your life!

I hate The Police, but I think they're a good band and that they make good music...can't stand 'em though. Their music just seems to be too scholarly or pretentious. But I wouldn't say they're crap just because I don't like any of their songs.

Read those, please.

None of that is me, that's all you, and somehow I'm the one character assassinating?

This passage is my fav, personally:

"I hate The Police, but I think they're a good band and that they make good music...can't stand 'em though. Their music just seems to be too scholarly or pretentious. ".

Never will you read anything more stupid.

Nothing. Why would that have any bearing on their intelligence?

EXACTLY! So then WHAT EXACTLY are people ridiculing when they say...“You’re an IDIOT for liking that wine/song"?

It seems to me all they could be saying is..."wow...it's VERY interesting how I can hate this wine so much and you could like it"

How am I supposed to know why someone would be motivated to say anything at all?

And what is the point here?

Your personal taste, they are ridiculing your personal taste and choice.

They are not saying you're wrong. It's a subjective insult regarding a subjective choice.

That seems most likely if one were to speculate.

I just added this Ytse...

Isn't that right then?

He said he liked Angels by Robbie Williams, I personally think it's shit and that he's dumb for liking it, but that is my opinion on HIS opinion.

He's not wrong, nor is he right, but he would have you believe it's an objectively good song based on subjective criteria.

Maybe. But all of this is speculation since noone is a mind reader.

Just listen to what YOU just SAID.

When asked...

-"What exactly makes someone an "idiot" for not liking the wine you're saying is crap"

YOU said...

-"Nothing. Why would that have any bearing on their intelligence?"

So then if a statement like that doesn't make sense as a form of insult...AS YOU SAID...then it doesn't have much else except possibly saying...

"It seems to me all they could be saying is..."wow...it's VERY interesting how I can hate this wine so much and you could like it"

You've posted that post about 50 times now, EP.
