No they shouldn't, they should be allowed to live with dignity and some level of happiness. People live in a society and thus have a responsibility to care for those that cannot do it themselves.
Yes they should. No reason to make the contributing parts of society pay more than necessary.

There is a very good reason, of course its contrary to the human impulse of greed, but the reason is that these people cannot take care of themselves, they don't have a level playing field to go out and earn a stable living. So society has to suck it up and do whats needed to provide these people with a stable living.

Society should pay for their basic needs, they should take care of the rest themselves.

And if they can't, then society takes care of the rest. As I said I am not suggesting we give them a mansion to live in, but they live in enough pain and suffering, and some can't leave their homes very often, they deserve to have the basic things like a tv and cable.

And how do we know they can't? A system like you are suggesting gets taken advantage of. Perhaps if they really can't then we should give them just a bit more. But we should definitely check on that, and force them to get a job any kind of job if they can even for a little. Paying for people that can work pisses me off. And any socialist system does that.

Dude...there are actually working people that don't have a TV and cable.

LOL do you really think they just walk in and get approved? In Canada they have to pass very strict criteria to be covered. Some people have to go through a 2 year process to get covered. And some of them cannot work at all, either due to pain or extreme fatigue.

You need to stop being so greedy and develop some compassion.

You need to stop being so brainwashed. and see the real picture.

Starhawk ive been reading back through this thread and basically you are pretending to be the champion of the unfortunate whereas really you are just talking about your own condition, i lost count of the number of times you mentioned pain/fatigue.

As I've said many times, I'm not covered under this law because I have enough money to live on due to my parents. I am talking about people who aren't as lucky.

I didnt mention the law, i stated that you mentioned pain/fatigue multiple times and are you saying i have no compassion? You should read more carefully given your chosen field of study

You if feel the same as fishy then yes you lack compassion.

?

Grammer is not the enemy, seriously, a judgement call like that makes me think Canadas version of Johnny Cochran is on his way.Chewbacca defense to follow.

I have Fibromyalgia, it's basically arthritis and chronic fatigue syndrome combined into one disease. But as I said this is not about me, I am one of the lucky ones not to need this program. But i have read the legislation.

Bullshit Rhetoric. Works on the weak minded (i.e. you)

No it is most certainly not, and it is just recently getting acknowledgment in the medical community.

And Bardock, reported.

Why, because I pointed out that your argumetns are not actual facts or logic, but based on some ****ed up moral system that many people have been brainwashed to accept? I am sorry if you don't like my contribution, but...well...at least it is a contribution.

Also, I assume the Mods turned off your ability to report by now.
