A) They're similar to vampires (can't go out in sunlight, thirst for blood, etc.)

B) They were "vampires" in the traditional sense (which, I suppose, is what you're thinking of) in the novel.

In the movie they weren't Vampires. In the book, they were. Simple and Clean.

They weren't really vampires in the book either, as they were not supernatural, they did have vampire-like qualities due to the illness/disease.

Having said that, there's nothing wrong with referring to them as vampires, as they're very similar. So stop your crying.

I did see the movie.....if I don't want to refer to them as vampires, which they technically are not, then so be it. You'll have to accept that.
