Alan Moore for the crafting of a comic- you have to admit, something like Tom Strong or Promothea is pretty ****ing brilliantly put together in terms of its structure....

And Frank Miller for those panels that pull together everything and make comics reading just AWESOME for a second and you get to shout '**** YEAH!'- Daredevil putting the costume back on to fight Nuke, Batman silhouetted against the lightening or fighting Superman at the end-

I haven't read much Promethea, but i seriously intend to. I was going thru a very anti-idealist faze when i bought the 1st trade , (And its basically about what life would be like if a quasi platonic idealism existed) but its something I really really want to read.

It gets very, very esoteric and obscure towards the middle- and when Alan Moore wants to be esoteric, he makes Morrison at his craziest look like a patient third-grade teacher explaining addition....

Still WELL worth the read.

Hmmm interesting, I'm skeptical but id like to put it to the test. I wonder if the two have met ? I know Alan Moore bum rapes Ellis, and I know that Ellis and Morison don't get along. I'm inclined to believe that Moore wouldn't like Morison. I've seen Moore interviewed a few times and he comes across as a bit of an Elitist, hack. He's doesn't pull any punches with his opinions on comic book readers and more orthodox stories. Like Ellis, he thinks the whole medium is a bit "beneath" him. Morison on the other hand is like a hyper active 13 year old with the knowledge (not wisdom) of a aggressive contemporary metaphysics professor.

Wait, since when did Morrison and Ellis stop getting along? They used to be like best buds- Transmetro is dedicated to Morrison (along with Garth Ennis and Peter Milligan I think), and Morrison used to do interviews all the time for "Come in Alone," Ellis' column back on CBR...

But then again, both of those are like... a decade ago, so maybe I'm just unaware of some recent bad blood.

By the way, this has gotten fairly off-topic.

Ellis had a cloumn on CBR ? .... Wicked must research this.

Oh its kind of on topic its related to Morisson.

I hope he comes back after his break and fleshes out some the ideas he's hinted at in Superman beyond and Final Crisis secret files. Id love some kind of multi-versal exploration, that would be a bit like the idea of countdown .... but good. I.e. there should be some kind of multiversal corps like the version that existed in Moores Captain Britain, with a character a bit like Rip Hunter but on a multiversal scale. It could be like Planetary meets qunatum leap, or Doctor Who meets his Dark materials.

He talked about returning to "Batman" after a short break... and seeing as how the Omega Sanction can transport its victim throughout worlds, concepts, and incarnations.... my dream is that Morrison returns to write a multi-issue arc about Batman kicking ass across the multiverse and beyond.

Mandrakk looks pretty awesome.

1. Is Final Crisis #7 still scheduled for January 28th?

Dan DiDio: Absolutely. We’ve put the book to bed, it went out, and what’s even better is that due to the overwhelming response we got to Final Crisis #6 which led to its sell-out, we actually have the second printing of #6 coming out on the same day. So next Wednesday, people will have #7 in their hands, as well as the opportunity to pick up #6 as a second printing if they missed it the first time around.

6. Let’s talk about Final Crisis #6 – the book, as you mentioned, did well for you, and sold out, but that was the “conclusive” death of Batman, despite the conclusion of the “Batman R.I.P.” storyline in the Batman series in December – and no one really paid attention. I mean – you showed the body...?

DD: I agree – and as I said, the book did sell out, but also, it’s issue #6 of a 7-part series, so that issue #7 is one of the things that we want people to read to understand the full scope of the story that’s unfolding.

Also, we’ve been pretty upfront about what our plans are for Batman and the Batman family, and I think that everyone needs to hang on until Final Crisis #7 hits the stands. Following that, we can open up the discussion on our publicity for it.

7. When it does come to seeking and getting mainstream media attention on a big story such as the “death” of Batman, is it what it appears to be, that is, a delicate combination of not wanting to go to the well too many times for what may be seen as trivial twists of story as well as not wanting to try to hook someplace like The New York Times with something that can seem like crying wolf?

DD: Again, I think some of that will be answered with people see Final Crisis #7. If we went over the top with issue #6 in presenting the conclusion of that issue, we would have looked very foolish at the conclusion of issue #7. At this moment, I’d rather let the product speak for itself.

facepalm

damn didio.

What a random comment.

Hardly .... you talk about consistency with Morisson, Geoff Johns had NO consistency before started writing the Flash. A lot of his books where terrible.

Maybe if someone had actually mentioned John's beforehand. As is,you just threw out a random name for no apparent reason.

A culture vastly superior to yours, seeing as ours isn't built on exiled criminals.

I was gonna laugh at this, but I'm English, so.....

Ahhhh. It's so good to be back in the cesspool of KMC. 😄 No thanks to the mods. durfist

I was going to rant and rave about Darkseid being killed, but then I figured, Morrison will not screw me over like that. Besides, it was a host body that died. and Black Racer is still on his way. So I think Darkseid will be back in issue 7.

Superman Beyond. Yeah...........****ing awesome book. the concepts blew my mind. But damned if I had trouble wrapping my head around it. And for the record, this is not wanking of Superman in the least. It's basically DC confirming that old quote of Galan's. "When he has to be, Superman>>ALL." He's just that ****ing awesome. 👆
