I liked it as well. Its a simple straight up slasher film. No unnecessary detailed background story. I was thinking that the only survivor from the original massacre
Spoiler:since I believe they were from that town or at least it was implied by the cop recognizing the bro. Unless I missed something. Overall it was pretty good.
wasnt the bro/sister's mother

Hey guys, just saw it today and I must say it was pretty good. I thought it was a good reboot of the franchise and took Jason Voorheers back to the bear basics and mythology of those first 3 movies. He had become nearly a joke in those later sequels and I have never been a fan of the zombie Jason. This movie did well in making Jason scary again and this interpretation of him in this film is one of my favourites along with how he was portrayed in Parts 3 and 4. He was was a hunter in this and a near perfect marksmen and I thought the underground tunnels were a nice touch. Overall it was a pretty good movie in my eyes and brought Jason back in a good way, my score 7/10.
I didn't think the remake was as great as everyone says it is on here, wasn't bad and it was quite good for a remake, to me though the best remake is still the hills have eyes, I loved that film and I dunno if any other remake of a horror is going to top it for me. I'd give the F13 remake a 5 out of 10.

Because he's supposed to be a big freaking zombie, basically. It was fun when he never ran but was still able to catch up to people running away, part of the cheese/camp factor that made the Friday the 13th movies enjoyable.
In this new one they just made him a generic big guy who killed people, nothing special or unique about him.
