i like bobby, after scott and pete he's my favourite x-male, but the guy's an idiot, someone like him should be a team wrecker, but 99% of the time its ice-slide this and ice-blast that...

gambit will always be crap, though...

I'm not in favor of banning any specific characters due to their powersets... duping, I can understand, but I'm entirely against making a "loophole character list", because Delph has said from day 1 that he doesn't want to limit ingenuity.

I already knew about the Gambit/Sage business... meh. The original New Sun couldn't control his powers and blew up his planet.

Go ahead, make that in prep, then kill yourself...

People are overreacting.

He blow the planet up not becaue he couldn't control his powers- but because he stupidly lashed out on it with all his powers trying to fullfill the prophesy.

And as for Sage+Gambit...she has nothing to do with that. New Son'esque powers is something Gambit was born with, then in his teens those powers went apeshit, he started blowing up women he was f*cking etc, so he asked Sinister to perform lobotomy on him.

When temporary cured, those powers restored to New Son level.

And then what? You can't jumpstart someone who already has the powers, just has part of his brain surgically removed so he can't use them.
Sage does nothing to Remy.

Elixir+Sage, that's when it's scary.

gives new meaning to the term- no, it's too easy...

Lolz.

But seriously... Elixir does shit with his powers now. Boosting him to some phenomenal level isn't going to change things.

Sage, IMO, could work for Gambit because her powers have been used to heal/restore in the past.

And there's a dozen problems with the Gambit--> New Sun issues, even disregarding Sage.

Seriously people, stop the witchhunt.

There's the theory that any omega mutant can be jumpstarted into the abstract. In Elixir's case- into something like your Deity from prev. tourney- very high end transmuter.

And Sage is not the best\surest possible route of getting Gambit into New Son. As for heal- she unlocked Beast's latent HF, that's the only thing about healing consipering her I remember.

But I agree, stop the witchhunt. If someone makes teh uberpwnzor in te minutes of prep, then it's all nice and fine🙂

*reminds himself to add "for example" next time*

guys, I'm not singling Sage/Gambit out, I'm saying Sage + almost any mutant is basically a shortcut move, and, once it's done, any match with her in it will quickly became a "yes I can/no you can't" farce about how powerful "full potential" really is in each case.

It would save a lot of time in matches to just get rid of her now and leave everyone on an even playing field.

i'm fine with not having a loophole list, and i'm fine with letting sage in. i wanted her LAST tourney and think she's a great character if used correctly. i was simply saying i could understand the issue she represents. to be frank -- i was humoring scoob. 😛

Sage is useless character most of the time. Since sometimes you don't know what jumpstart will do to character (and inventing some BS powerup is silly).
Ban her if you wish...it won't affect the tourney in any way, just reduce the silliness of some things (New Son thingy can be done without Sage, BTW).
But considering anything, banning her is useless thing. So just leave her alone.

More serious problem- caculating the cost of characters. Would we use KMC tiers table or "common sence"?

Tiers Table + common sense + judge approval

the tiers are a good guideline. delph would sort out the tier for a questioable character with the help of the other judges i'd assume.
