Birds of Prey #72
A face in the background on group portrait (he can't even be seen clearly there):

As for Birds of Prey #70- he DOESN'T even appear there let alone do something featwise (unless I have a copy with missed pages).
Correction- he probably does appear, but still has nothing to say or do:

Well now. Don't things look interesting.

From all the stuff listed about Air-Wave I have only 3 issues and 2 of them is him posing on the portraits (posted above)🙂

Well thank you my dear for your expertise. It's certainly appreciated.

So in BOP 70 he was a prisoner and not active?

To clear the question with appearances-10 of Zachary's appearances that actually contain feats (overall guy has about 17 appearances but some of'em have him simply present on group portrait):

Teen Titans (2003) #34 - 'The New Teen Titans, Part 1: One Year Later'
Teen Titans (2003) #37 - 'The New Teen Titans, Part 4'
52 (2006) #21 - 'Teambuilding Exercises'

Teen Titans (2003) #39 - 'Titans Around the World, Part 2'
Teen Titans (2003) #42 - 'Devil May Care'

52 (2006) #50 - 'World War III'
Shadowpact (2006) #10 - 'Cursed, Part Two of the Demon Triptych'

World War III (2007) #3 - 'Hell Is For Heroes'
Robin (1993) #166 - 'The Big Leagues'

Superman (1939) #680 - 'The Dog of Steel'
Terror Titans (2008) #1 - 'Terror Titans, Part One: The Basis of Optimism'
-----------------
That's including feats\dialogue appearances. Out of the Air-Wave 10 appearances at least 1 (Birds of Prey #72) does not contain any feats or even dialogue lines on Air-Wave's part. So Fangirl has valid point about him.

Not entirtely valid- add Teen Titans #56- "Ingition" to the list

He didn't do anything there either.

He was a prisoner, yes. And he was only shown in one panel on background without any dialogue lines\feats shown.
Birds of Prey #72- group portrait.

In #73 he participates in the fight and appears in about 3 panels.

I think she was talking about Zach, Fangirl.

I'm talking about Zachary, who is also a borderliner, so I want to avoid double standarts. And if "nothing"=communication via enchanted mirror from Sydney to California- then it's "nothing".

You're right. I'm only added an issue I've missed from Zachary's active appearances list (posted after re-quoting said list).

Oh. Zach has the appearances anyway. He just appeared in Superman. That put him over any doubts anyway. So what's the ruling on airwave who doesn't have the required feats? I gotta lay my last post down in ten minutes.

I don't know. And with Zachary I was only trying to be fair🙂

Hmm...Air-Wave #3 (the one they're using) has more appearances than ones listed at least according to the site. But those are appearances of post-crisis and pre-crisis (differen guys) mixed together.
If we discout Pre-Crisis (we should since that's different character) that leaves us with not much to his name.

Ok.

Based on what I've researched, had my MSN researcher look up for me, and from what Charlotte has presented, it looks like Air Wave doesn't make the 10 full appearances quota. By rule, he would not be a legal draftee, and Bdub & Smurph would have to re-pick for him (for next weeks match).

Why this character wasn't scrutinized more intensely in the initial free agency process, given the way some of the other picks have been scrutinized, is a mystery to me.

That said, I have to enforce the rules on everyone the same way.

I have presented the list for my "deadliner" that do contain feats and\or dialogues. Have anticipated that🙂

Hmm...

Smurph made a clarification in the transaction thread in regards to the pick and said they were taking the more recent/30 point version of the character (Air Wave III), not the Pre-Crisis version. I'll see if I can find his post.

Which means he really doesn't have the 10 required appearances. era specific drafting severly limits the appearances. So they had to be careful.

Notes:
The son of Larry Jordan and Helen Jordan (Air-Waves 01 and 02).

Post-Crisis he is the first-cousin, once removed, of Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

Pre-Crisis he was either the real or the "fake" first-cousin, once removed, of Hal Jordan. (He's the "fake" cousin of Hal if you believe Larry was born on Earth 2.)

--------------
To add to that Pre-Crisis and Post-Crisis were different guys bearing the same name (that's why that appearance list has'em together).

It looks like Smurph picked the "current" Air Wave:

I need to clear this with Delph, but I think it should be ok.

Earlier this week, Blair and I had a miscommunication and I left him to do the drafts (what was I thinking?)... anyways, he drafted a character (current Air-Wave) for 20 points when he's clearly 30.

In the interest of not having another character disqualification, I'm gonna go ahead and bump him up to 30 points now...

I'm still technically only redrafting Sand and adjusting points for one character so that I don't get harped on later.

Anyways:

Dropping Sand - 30 points ( 🙁 )
Air-Wave- 20 points

Adding:

Air-Wave - 30 points - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Wave#Harold_Jordan

Mantis- 20 points
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantis_(Marvel_Comics)

I'm just reading about Mantis' apparent new precog now... I wasn't aware, but it's extremely new. If it turns out to be anything significant (I'll ask around), we can just draft an earlier version of Mantis. Regardless, we won't be using the powers, but I know that there's still a no neutering policy. [/B]

Now, the character is actually dead currently as of his last appearance in IC #3 (if I'm not mistaken), so they'd have his last incarnation as Smurph stated "current Air Wave" for 30 points.

That clears the point🙂

Ok...

I'm off to bed.

I'm hoping I won't have to be as involved in the workings of next week's battles.

Peace.
