Delph's League of Champions Season One Discussion Thread

Meh... probability powers aren't nearly as hard to counter or debate for as people think.

It's all about magnitude of the powers, what's way to long of a shot (pun intended), and whether the opponents are competent.

Technopathy shouldn't be an issue. There's counters to it. Making a rule against it would limit a lot of characters unecessarily.

As for mind control, I'm in agreement that there needs to be limits. But telepathic attacks shouldn't be negated entirely. Mind control, out. Offensive telepathy, fine.

Agree with Digi 100%

oh, so i'm not the only one... 😛

to add a bit of strategy, i'd have swaps between teams infinite, even between matches (if they arent already), for example...

say i have colossus, and i see that smurph has polaris and i'm due up against him in the next match... i'd be thinking how screwed i am... but then i see that charlotte, say, has emma, and is actually in the market for a class 100 bruiser, so we swap for the matches...

not to step on toes or anything, it's just an idea...

Why in my right mind I would care for pure tanks? Though I have *something* in mind for sure.

Trading is allowed between matches and that was discussed in the rules.

As for TP tactics, ban mind control and posession, anything else is fine🙂

Trades and free agent signings are already allowed Pig... 🙄

As for mind control, controlling the actions of your opponent is banned, be it by telepathy, hypnosis, or any other means. Remote control of your opponent's tech, however, is a completely different matter. I'd allow technopathy, however, sentient machine characters that are drafted could not be controlled (since it's essentially mind control anyway). So you couldn't use technopathy on Vision or Red Tornado.

If mind control and possession are banned, what'bout illusion casting?

Illusion casting would be legal currently, but it's up for a vote. I personally see nothing wrong with tricking the perceptions of your opponent, be it through illusions or holograms.

Sounds fine with me. Don't get all the wuss about technopathy, since the best three picks on that level are Extremis Iron Man, Omega Sentinel and Indigo- none of them by itself is Henshaw-lite, and amalgams are another talks.
Black Box, while very useful, simply collects\stores information.

There's always some obscurities like Zero, but in total banning technopathy=stupid.

Zero shouldn't be allowed to begin with.

He's a big loophole, agree, and I'm not sure whether or not he meets issue requirements. Though Pig tried to use it and failed- but his whole amalgam was a nonsensical mess- capable of losing even to Papa Smurph...amalgamating Dragon Man and Zero=teh lolz.

The only reason LP lost, was a lack of scans. Papa Smurf's prep and entire strategy was a joke.

Anyways, Zero's powers are too loosely defined.

Isn't there a rule in place that allows that already? something about trading? or is that just at certain times?

i honestly don't know... ive only read the rules once, and damn if i cant remember em all...

I think it depends soley upon how well the person who uses them sells it, for example if usen in a believable way then sure; but if someone was to draft Longshot and say "Luckily, you've managed to leave all your equipment behind on the tube, yay." I'd laugh them off.

So let's see:

illusions - ok
mind control, tenopathic takeover - not ok
offensive telepathy/technopathy - ok
duping, copying - not ok
info retention - ok

Some of those are official, others are still up for discussion. I agree with them all. This tourney seems to be chafing up nicely.

Coincidentally, is xmarks on the judge list? Or -V-? They've been around this thread and know their stuff. We should recruit them if we haven't already. Whadaya say, boys?
