I remember Thanos losing interest, not sure but I know something was going on with thanos that he wasn't fighting seriously...been awhile so I might be completly off basis.

Must have confused it with one of Thanos random run-ins with Drax,is that fight in the respect thread cause I don't think I'v seen it. Although its still kind of convoluted, SS should technically still be able to beat Thanos especially with all there exotic powers into account.....marvel is confusing sometimes.

You must be thinking of a different fight because Thanos was taking the fight seriously and didn't lose interest. Surfer just won... well kinda. Like I said he wouldn't finish Thanos off because they still needed him and when Surfer dropped his guard Thanos took him down.
it seemed to be more of an astral plane fight anyway, their real bodies weren't even being used at all, and their armour was subject to their personalities (hence thanos riding a demonic horse and surfer a white horse)
and surfer was super mad at thanos at that time for what he did, and thanos was acting kind of strange since he was umungst all the people he had just creativly destroyed, surfer was in a better state of mind in that fight.... even though thanos still won.

If I remember the fight your referring to surfer didn't win anything. Plus Darth post of these scans of surfer beating thanos during that run.

Regarding the Mother Boxes in general...and I'm sure Allankles would be able to correct this if its wrong, but I'm nearly positive that Mother Boxes existed prior to the New Gods (during the reign of the Old Gods), each is powered by the Source, and yes...programmed by their user generally. But already pre-created.
So...no one goes about creating Mother Boxes, from what I understand.
