USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE IV (RENEGADES)- Battlefield

"Not only that, we'll want the Federation thinking we forgot about the generator. We'll set up an ambush, the BV-50 will come, and hopefully the universe will be one short of a lethal prototype by the end of the day"

They will indeed not guard the generator more (they feel removing the men already there would be too much of a giveaway) so you may ambush.

The generator is of the same plan as the last one. Make your plans accordingly.

Ok guys at the shield, you have come to the main reactor complex; a massive dome, a generator within that is hundreds of metres in each dimension.

There are four main service access entrances to that area, which we will simply call A, B, C and D, all at cardinal points. You can still hear (and feel!) the vibrant whum of the generator operating.

To remind everyone what the first shield generator complex was like. We will need to cover those four entrances with any Jedi that comes with us. We have Kiu, Denzral, Jovan, Wentar, Vlad, and myself.

What is the distance, turn-wise, between each entrance, Ush? And is there anywhere that could be used to hide between them? Which entrance is closest to the main entrance?

I was thinking of possibly blocking several of the entrances, and have two Jedi guarding D with the rest nearer the main part of the generator. So if an entrance blows at least two Jedi are able to repond. Or we could just have a Jedi hide near each entrance and the remaining near the generator. I still like blocking the entrances with something.

Ush are A, B, C, & D the ONLY entrances to the generator? Is their any other way to get at it? Can I do a servey roll?

We're not at the generator yet and I'm sure the Selen can provide us will all the information we need on the generators layout.

There are also the three levels inside. What level do the entrances lead to? One, two or three?

I also like the idea of blocking entrances, Denzral. We should shut all blast doors and whatnot once we are concealed inside. The BV-50 can use its cutting laser to get through, but that will let us know where it is coming from.

We should also think about limiting its mobility... but I don't want to get it into an enclosed space because of its 720 disruptor field, and we need mobility ourselves. Fencing it in by attacking it from all sides might just be enough.

The complex is large and the entrances are relatively distant- you Dashed along them before. It is two turns to get from any of the entrances to the centre, or from one entrance to an adjacent entrance. There are also three levels of walways, uppler, middle and lower, with a point of cover for any firing from the upper to lower or vice versa due to their criss-cross nature. The complex entrance leads to the middle. There are no other designed ways in. There is all manner of technical gumf around- crates, consoles, enormous cables, power junctions etc. that can be used to hide.

The good news is this- a night's rest is a heal point, and I've decided not to punish Denz for being knocked out. Everyone can heal all damage (to your ships as well, unless they were brought down). If you are an Acolyte and/or have the 'Flow of the Force' power, you may restore a Force point.

Uh, cool... thank-you! 🙂

Can we block any of the entrances to lower the odds in the BV's favor. And I have an idea. If we can have three Jedi distracting the BV so a fourth and fith Jedi my drop chunks of walkway onto the droid, that should hinder it, damage it, or give the others time to lob it in half? If we slice up the support struts bar the ones holding up the ends of each walkway, we should be able to drop a lot of weight onto it when we cut through the ends.

Or, Ush is the energy projection for the shield generator visible, like maybe being able the destroy it by forcing it into the core or into the energy band of the generator. We should all try to avoid physical contact with the BV so, staying at a distance and trying to control it's direction.

Or we could drop a few walkways above onto the droid, then thus break the main and subsequent walkways before it crashes into the permacrete floor below.

They're my suggestions.

Also space a Jedi between the four entrances so its one Jedi to every two entrances, then when the BV is spotted we move there, some of us hidden on the upper walkways? Termintor style.

Dropping walkways on it could be a nifty way of starting things off against the BV-50, but it is rather quick. Cutting through a walkway takes time and is very noticeable. I was thinking that maybe we could use the Force to hurl things at it, though, when you mentioned hitting it with things.

Ush, I know it gets Parry from the shield against blasters and lightsabers, but what about physical attacks?

Ah well I thought it was a good idea. I wish we had... hey! I have another idea. But does the BV-50 float or walk? I assume it floats. Then what about luring it in then trapping it with a blast from a coolent line from the generator?

If we all have blasters, we could set their power packs to overload and Bombard it with them and they should expload? C'mon something to cause a bit of serious damage.

Ha! I know, we'll blast it with the best 80's music, and try and make friends. 😂

The enmergy sheild follows the rules for Droidekas. It provides Parry against melee attacks (which, combined with the BV-50s irritatingly high Defenve value, is a real pain, unlike static Droidekas). Against ranged attack it simply massively reduces damage (in a form that cannot be ignored by things that ignore cover or amour).

I don't want to provide answers to questions about whetehr doing any actyion is a good idea, as all approaches have their up and down sides. Literally, yes you can block entrances. It will destroy the generator the same way it destroyed the last one, on the assumption that is the most efficient way, which seems reasonable.

It does indeed float but you will find that more of a strength for it than a liability.

All in all, remember that the BV-50 is pretty smart for a droid, and indeed in the opening section on the ice world it was implied that it was developing a personality.

How did it destroy it again?

I don't think we want to drop huge walkways down onto it, as we don't want to damage any huge circuits or the generator itself. It would be a real pain if we were the ones to destroy the generator ourselves...

How many turns would it take the BV-50 to cut through an entrance?

Can't tell you that.

I see.

I think the most secure way of beating it back or destroying it without damaging the generator is if we don't let it get deep inside first. If possible bunch up on it right by the entrance and force it out. The question is how do we know through which entrance it's going to come through...

It severed the three massive cooling pipes that caused the generator overheat and explode, Denzral.

I figured that if we block the entrances, it will have to cut through them and it will allow us to figure out where it is coming from.

We could even hide near those cooling pipes that it wants to sever. Might be a good idea to spring our trap when it starts working. I think that might even be best because then it doesn't matter which entrance it comes through, it will for sure go for one of the three pipes. We can put two Jedi on each, with an extra on one of them.

Due to some bad news offline, I haven't been following the rpg here closely, I'll try to catch up

I hope everything's okay, Jovan. We need you! 🙂

I don't think letting it get anywhere near those coolent lines is a good idea. So Denz is utterly against that plan.

I think that the BV-50 will probably go for the cooling lines anyways. It's really mobile and heavily armed, it could probably cut into that thing while fighting all of you.

Vera's suggestion isn't without merit, that is it's objective if it is going to destroy it the same way it did before.
